INFO:
Dracula was a distant parent, if mostly kind. Save for when he was introducing Adrian to the darker side of his lineage. Lisa may not have wanted them to be against humans, but that didn’t mean she knew anything about the world of vampire politics and rule. Adrian would one day take his father’s place as the Warlord of Wallachia.
Whenever Dracula played his role as the warlord, instead of Adrian’s kind but distant father, things were different between them. Harsh.
Adrian could admit when he was a boy that he was scared of the man.
Dracula taught Adrian everything he knew from swordsmanship to transformation to magic. Adrian excelled under his father’s harsh tutelage.
Adrian had every intention to become just as powerful as his father and just as brilliant as his mother.
At the time, Adrian thought his father was simply being harsh because the supernatural world was just that– harsh. Adrian could not be kind to the vampires– and he was a dhampir. They were worse to him than the others.
The vampires of Dracula’s court definitely tried their best to take advantage of Adrian, and it never ended well for them, whether or not Dracula found out.
Adrian looked up to both of his parents and wanted to follow his mother’s ideals to improve the world.
But his mother was his everything. Adrian was an only child with no other children to play with and so his mother was very doting when she wasn’t doing her work.
He was a very bright and eager child, easy to please with simple amusements and study.
Though he did get into some mischief here and there–especially when he learned to levitate.
Loves to read and do research.
Netflix Canon specific info:
Season 1-2
Adrian is eighteen when his mother is murdered. He remains with his father for the year after, despite the man’s increasing descent into rage and madness as he tries to reason with him. When it’s clear dracula does not intend to change his mind, adrian opposes him and is almost killed. He flees to his vault under Gresit to recover from his wounds for a year.
Within the year that Adrian has been asleep, the church has been sending its military to oppose Dracula with no real affect. Their forces are easily repelled and most do not return.
It’s as the war is becoming a human blood bath a year later that Adrian is awoken by Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades.
Compliant following Season 2– Dracula does leave a curse on the land just before his death.
Season 3:
Adrian remained behind in the castle because of the threat against it due to the power vacuum created because of Dracula’s death.
Within the two months he was alone, several vampires came to oppose Adrian who, not so easily, managed to defeat them.
Taka and Sumi find him in the midst of one of these battles, and help him kill one of the vampires.
Adrian is tired due to all of the fighting and his defenses are weak to their false kindness. He takes them in, he teaches them. He does what he can to give them his knowledge and they betray him.
Beyond this, I don't really care for Season 4 save for Danesti and the ending, so we can say that Adrian was fighting off vampires trying to get Dracula's throne and the Castle, and some of the canon events occurred.
