“-- Hugo.” To say he surprised you would be an understatement. You actually hadn’t noticed him enter your file, nor heard him until there was a creak at the threshold, to which you spun around in your chair to investigate, eyes wide in a start only to see the prince.
Your heart practically pounds in your chest as you relax with a weak smile, rubbing your face to clear you of your momentary fright. Hundreds upon hundreds of stacks of paper litter the study you’ve buried yourself in, covered in arguably confusing handwriting, While it’s obvious it’s code, it’s rather hard to make out due to how compact and connected your wording is.
Sigma sits on the desk, a couple blue screens hovering above. One holds data and percentages, and the other simply holds code, and next to the keyboard sits a new stack of paper you’re in the middle of filling in.
“You... Surprised me.” You say finally, leaning back as you watch him. You’ve put on a bit of weight since your last meeting with him, but you’re still on the thin side, and it doesn’t compliment the pallor of your face as you sniffle gently. Your nose isn’t running at the moment, but it might start. Hopefully not. You’re tired of blowing it. “I have not seen you in quite a while. How are you?” The Zone itself, and by default, the palace, are absolutely frigid, and a plume of hazy steam leaves your mouth with each breath.
