Spellbound is pleased to present a fantastic night of live music with the Swedish synthpop band KITE, along with the kickass Abbey Death!
$12 / 21+ Doors 9pm ********** KITE If you haven't heard of Kite, do yourself a favor and check them out. http://www.last.fm/music/ Kite Kite began when Christian Berg (Yvonne, Strip Music) asked Nicklas Stenemo (The Mo, Melody Club) to sing on one of his instrumental songs. A day later, the demo version of ”My girl and I” was complete. They started to create songs on a daily basis in Nicklas’ studio where Christian’s love for monotone synth melted together with Nicklas’ pop hits, and the band Kite was born. Their debut EP Kite was reviewed favourably by Side-Line magazine, comparing it to classic 1980s synthpop acts like Erasure or Yazoo. The EP Kite III had a darker tone. The release Kite IV has been seen as a mix of classic 1980s synthpop like OMD and modern, experimental sounds. The EP Kite VI was released in 2015 and has been compared to the sound of Kraftwerk and Vangelis. ********** ABBEY DEATH Valerie Abbey (Gentile) & Abbey Nex are taking the goth/industrial world on by themselves in their new project Abbey Death. Valerie Gentile & Abbey Nex are best known for ravage energetic performances in such bands as Combichrist, The Crushadows, Psyclon Nine, Angelspit, Genitorturers and Black Tape for a Blue Girl. Combining their musical flavors together to breathe fresh music back into the scene, their debut EP Realignment shows of their efforts in a dark revival in their music and themselves as artists. https:// abbeydeath.bandcamp.com/ ********** DJ Shade will be mixing a great night of music before between and after the bands.
