what r your thoughts on the tlou ships?? dellie, ellabs, melabs, abbyowen… m curious
hi babyyy !♡ (ugh actually ty for asking me this, I’ve been meaning to yap about it, and I neeeddd to know ur thoughts on them too.)
oh where do i even begin. for starters, i actually love love love dellie. i think they’re adorable, and wlw canon relationships in media mean sooo much to me, so they’ll always hold a very special place in my heart. beyond that, i just think they balance each other really well yk. what more can i say? they’re just so sweet together.
i do lowkey ship ellabs… but mostly in an au, like idk if that makes sense. in canon they barely have any real interactions outside of trying to kill each other, so there isn’t much to build a romance on. what i do love is how much they parallel each other. they’re both shaped by grief, both lose themselves in revenge, both end up sacrificing the people they love because they can’t let go. they’re constantly mirroring each other without even realizing it, and i think that’s such an interesting foundation. if they had met under different circumstances—or if they actually had the chance to know each other instead of being enemies—I honestly think they’d get along really well.
i have to confess i am a melabs shipper on the dl lmaoo i’m sorry, i will look for yuri in literally anything and everything. but genuinely, i think they had a lot of chemistry in the few scenes they shared. mel is one of the only people who isn’t intimidated by abby, and she actually calls her out when she thinks she’s wrong instead of just going along with her. i find that dynamic really interesting. damn, abby if you locked in u could've had yourself a cute pregnant gf like ellie, c’mon now.
and ohmygosh don't get me started on how much i despise owen. i’m the biggest abbyowen hater, and it has nothing to do with the fact that it’s a straight ship or that owen’s a guy. i just find him incredibly frustrating. i think he spends so much of the story avoiding responsibility and expecting everyone else to work around what he wants. he hurts both abby and mel in different ways, and neither of them deserved that — he's just insufferable and really needed to get his priorities straight (like my girl abby said.)
now also feels like a good time to admit I lowkey shipped abby and nora too, sue me. i have way more opinions than this, but i think that’s enough for now LMAO.
