I’ve had this idea for a while now, but I just recently found the will to finally finish it. Finally. 😂

Last year I had the idea to make just random playlists for books I like, like a playlist for a pairing or whatever, so I made this playlist UI from scratch because why not. I just didn’t want to grab a Spotify mock-up or etc. Haha! I wanted something I can customise, I wanted to be able to adjust the colors and backgrounds.

I wanted the playlist to be posted side by side so I think this is the correct size for Tumblr without it cropping. I decided to fit just 10 tracks because that was what could fit in the layout without compromising the design. And I didn’t have to put the timestamp of the music but I felt the right side was empty so...🤷‍♀️😂

My MC wasn’t named Eli but it was the default name so I used it.

So I finally cleaned it up and prepped it for the community the best I could. You can change up colors using Color Overlay (I already set it up, you just double click), I also added the font I used, you’ll have to install that, but you can replace the typeface if you want. I can’t walk you through everything, but if you have a question, just send me a DM.

Charttopper Cover - Cadence Dorian

Charttopper magazine in Platinum was clearly inspired by Billboard’s 2019 magazine covers. In 2020, the logo has been placed horizontally on top. But I had to stay true to the cover in the book. 👍

I started making the cover in August 2019, but life happened and I didn’t have the time nor the will to continue it, but last night I felt like finishing what I started, so here! It’s gonna be a while before I start any edit or whatevs again. 😂

PLATINUM One In A Million Winner Cadence Dorian’s Pictagram

I thought it would be cool to do this! MC is definitely a social media user, and even if she didn’t have one, Fiona would 150% force her to make one for her career. 😂

I decided to go with MC’s default name, although I use a different one for my MC (because “Cadence Dorian” does not flow like a celebrity name should).

I’ve added small details here and there. If you want a breakdown of the photos and etc, here are my notes just for kicks.

I’m not sure if I’m making a Part 3 but these are fun to make! I still got a few more photos from different celebrities that I can use.

IF THE ELEMENTALISTS MC HAS A POLAROID CAMERA

I figured as a young adult she’d probably have hobbies such as photography or she just really like keeping memories. And being in a new place (a.k.a. Penderghast) would fuel that creativity! She’d probably tape these in her journal or on her desk, who knows?

My headcanons when these photos were taken, hear me out:

She’d rope Atlas into a selfie with her, which Atlas would protest but would go along with it for her twin.

She would totally take photos of her familiar. My MC, Aisling, has an Arylu, so I think she’d love to have her friends’ familiars on a playdate. 

In this playdate MC, Shreya (with her Chichi), and whichever friend got the Gorgue familiar (I think Zeph because I feel like Tim and Zeph would totally be cool together because they’re both cool), are just standing behind the camera dangling treats as MC tries to take a non-blurry photo.

Because she was an Attuneless before, she totally knows how to flatlay because she probably had Instagram. 😂 (Can anyone confirm the existence of mobile phones in the Attuned universe?)

When she could finally introduce Atlas to the Pend Pals, they’d definitely take her into their group, and of course a group selfie would ensue.

Shreya definitely has the center of that photo and looks the most fabulous because hello? She’s Shreya.

Zeph will definitely purposely call the twins each other’s names while their posing just for kicks even though they have different hair.

Atlas will threaten everyone and act tough but they call BS and still be friendly with her anyway, especially Griffin.

Beckett will try to weasel himself out of the photo (much like Atlas) with stupid excuses like homework, but would do it for MC, and because he’s happy about being included.

And honestly, MC would be so happy her friends are interacting with her twin because for the first time in a long time, she belongs and doesn’t feel so lost.

NOTE: I typed this on the fly so...really didn’t think much about it. Haha!

A NEW DOCTOR AT EDENBROOK HOSPITAL!

Honestly, this was partly inspired by the Open Heart promotional photo Pixelberry did for MC’s ID and I couldn’t accept the design. But to be fair, I have yet to see a well-designed ID for a hospital in real life, I guess that’s not where the budget goes. HAHA.

More on the edit under the cut! (Also added the files for anyone who wants to make one too!)

At first I was going with the ID photo in the usual rectangle shape, and I was like, that’s not fun and creative. So this is what I came up with. The curved shapes is inspired by the logo. (You can see how much thought I put into this. 😂)

Also yes, I remade the hospital’s logo from scratch and I did change the font of Edenbrook Hospital’s logo, because the serif font they used didn’t match the feel of their modern logo. This looks so much better and cleaner!

The ID design was created Illustrator. The mock-up and whole collage was made in Photoshop.

UPDATE:

I finally finished working on the psd file for anyone who wants to make an ID too. Unfortunately, I could only provide .psd files (both ID and mockup), I also put a .jpg file there for those who don’t know how to use Photoshop but the problem with that is the layering. So I don't know how you’re going to go about that.

I’ve added the font I used, but you can always use your own font for the name and ID #. But I would recommend the one I used for uniformity.

Fair warning, this is recommended for people who knows basic Photoshop and how to use mock-ups in Photoshop.

PENDERGHAST STUDENT INFO FORM

So I may have gone overboard with this one. I made the design from scratch in Illustrator, that’s including the logo and the logo-text, the element icons, the layout, lines, boxes, print textures etc. Also wrote some flavour text too. Nothing here came from Pixelberry’s files aside from MC.

Funnily enough, as I was searching for an alternate typeface for the Penderghast College of Elemental Magicks, I found the actual typeface. It’s already in my laptop. So that wasn’t too hard. 😂

Then in Photoshop I added the background and fold textures, used my tablet to make a fake Dean Goeffe signature as well as my MC’s, and then added my MC’s info using a font because I’m not THAT dedicated to write it.

Since we haven’t gotten to the part where we have a familiar, I left that blank for next time!

Fun fact: My MC’s date of birth is during a solar eclipse in 1999. Haha!

Now I did not just spend my time and effort for just me to use it. I really made it with the Choices community in mind! I did a .psd file for it so you can edit in in Photoshop. I made it as concise and user-friendly as possible. But if you do have any questions, I’d be happy to answer them. Just send me a message!

The form background will not be decorated like I did above, because I want you to put your own spin on it if you’d like! My only two requests is that you don’t remove the subtle watermark I placed on the form if you see it, and don’t copy anything on the form to use for other projects. 👍

I’ll be uploading .png files (transparents) of The Elementalists MCs to help you. I’ll build the body for you but you’ll be the one putting on the hair and clothes. Don’t expect anything that hasn’t been seen in the book yet though, because that’s against Pixelberry’s policy.

THE LAST DUCHESS

A film by Award-Winning Director Thomas Hunt

I had this idea for a while, because we didn’t get a poster for it in the story. Thought I should make one myself!

I do have a few points of interest in this just in case you want to know:

I know the MC’s name is Jessica, but she was not given a surname, so I used her alias surname instead.

I had to mix two facial expressions (eyes/eyebrows and lips are from two different heads) for both MC and Chris, because there’s no “stoic” emotion and I wanted that since it’s a period drama film poster.

Her hair is the balayage grey "Embellished Updo”, but I recolored it to red because it looked better with her dress.

I changed the colour of the original dress to a more darker emerald green, and the lace into a more gold look because the original yellow was not visually pleasing. (In other words, it was UGLY.)

I figured since the film was so well received and it’s Thomas Hunt we’re talking about, this film could have been selected for the Sundance Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival. That’s why in the other poster there are the film festival laurels.

In the accreditation at the bottom of the poster are a mix of real celebrity names that are known for period dramas (such as Jude Law and Saoirse Ronan). And I have Holly Chang and Addison Sinclair in there also for Screenwriter and Costume Designer respectively.

Castle in the poster background is where they shot in Cordonia.

Chris Winter’s character Patrick didn’t have a surname so I gave him “Browning” just to make it look complete on the poster accreditation.

I took inspiration from the film posters of The Young Victoria and Anna Karenina.

I was super pumped to work on this, especially because I haven’t done fanart or edits since first year college. Haha! It’s been years! So to be able to do this again is exciting, I forgot how much I love making these. My job as a graphic designer/illustrator doesn’t involve making fake promotional. Haha!
