Only briefly returned to say that I binged the entire playthrough of the Elementalists so that I could finally know how it ends.
In my head (as a Beckett Harrington girlie) I think it is so cute that he doesn't want to admit he wants to become a professor and insists he wants to be a researcher. Like imagine when Eli (that's the MC's canon default name which I will use for her - she's a girl in my head), just starts having her lunch with Beckett because he intentionally forgets his lunch so she has an excuse to see him. And then his students see them walking in the halls but like have to be more formal because Eli IS a High Attuned, but they also couldn't help but gush how their stern professor is so soft and more casual when she's around.
Katrina Harrington will keep asking Beckett when he's going to propose so that she can finally be the Best Woman in their wedding. Then Eli teases back that technically speaking she proposed to him first but she's just respecting Beckett's wishes of wanting to ask her first (even though he already knows the answer since their hot tub scene in Book 2).
Oh yeah and I agree that probably every professor they had at Penderghast will be invited to their wedding. And many will argue on who gets bragging rights on who matched them up. But just as @agattthaa said in her post, Professor Englund shuts everyone up when he claims it.
Also if they have a son, they are definitely naming him after Eli and Atlas' dad. So he'll be Todd Harrington.
