The boys black eye, although it could be worse (not the best timing with his eye test tomorrow!).

The boys black eye, although it could be worse (not the best timing with his eye test tomorrow!).
A couple of weeks ago Abe and I went on a trip up to London to catch up with my family. Abe had a ball with his cousin Milo! They were laughing so hard and thought it was great fun throwing balls at us all! Happy days…
In 2013 Marie Otto (our friend Briony’s mum) was Ladies Captain for Salisbury and South Wiltshire Golf Club. She had to select a charity to support, she chose Abe’s Adventure. Through various fundraising events Marie and her fellow golfers raised a whopping £1,500 for Abe. We would like to send a huge thank you to Marie and the golfers for their support and generosity. The amount they have raised is just superb. On Saturday 9th November we went to the Club and accepted the cheque. Abe was a superstar, winning the hearts of all he met.
Chilling
Mmm cake
After spending some time on the bench Abe then decided he wanted to get down on the mat. So Leigh lay him down on his back... He then rolled over all by himself AND crawled! We watched in total amazement.
This is a fantastic achievement for day 4 post op. After a bit more crawling around he said wanted to stand up but don't think he quite has the strength just yet. Maybe he will get closer at his next session at 1pm.
Phew! Today's physio session was 100% better. It could have been the shot of valium we gave him, but we think it was more to do with taking it slowly with the little dude!
He sat on this bench for at least twenty minutes whilst Nicole did his stretches.
The very lovely Orthotist Laura Hartung was back after Abe's nap. She took casts of his lower legs for custom Cascade DAFOs (Dynamic Ankle Foot Orthosis). The moulds are then shipped overnight to a little place north of Seattle. We should receive them back in about 10 days. Abe got to choose the colours of the straps, the prints on the moulds and guess what colour he chose - Green!
