The next day, Nancy had stopped by to “welcome” the sisters. However, it was easy to see that she was merely there to ridicule them, especially since Lucy was filthy. After making a backhanded comment, Nancy had sneered at their cheap little set up. Lucy, a hothead, immediately fired up and yelled at Nancy, telling her to mind her own business and to get off their property.

Pearl had found a voodoo doll while scavenging, and Lucy has a few ideas on who to bind it too...

Pearl seems fine having to scavenge around and steal food, but Lucy feels like it’s degrading. She’s just ready to be able to cook their meals; there aren’t many vegetarian options lying around at the park or the gym, after all.

Pearl was, frankly, exhausted after the ritual. She always forgot how similar it was to exercise until it was time to do the dance like movements. Thankfully they only performed the ritual a few times a year, on the summer solstice, the fall equinox, and the eve of the new year.

She sat up as her sister quickly fell asleep beside her, just thinking. She was excited to start her new life with her sister by her side, but she couldn’t help but worry a bit. How would they practice their craft on an empty plot of sand? She couldn’t wait until they had a roof over their heads, though she had to admit that sleeping under the stars was very beautiful.
