If Sapphire has Ice powers, what powers would suit a Black Star Sapphire? I was thinking of shadows, but I want to hear your suggestions

Shadows sound like a good idea! 

(Also: while I admit this probably isn’t how a Sapphire’s powers work, I have a Black Star Sapphire oc who can see the fate of various stars surrounding Homeworld and uses that vision to infer what will happen to HW. I’m thinking of drawing her next-)

hi! could you help me with abilities, personality, and maybe a weapon for oregon sunstone (heliolite)? thank you very much!!

Let’s see, Oregon Sunstones are supposed to help with independence, enthusiasm, and originality. It also helps you move past your past mistakes, and let go of painful memories. It’s also associated with the element of fire.

So I’d suggest a personality of someone who is carefree and excitable, with lots of willpower. They could also be really rebellious or emotionally strong. And perhaps they would be good at giving advise. Or they could be good at coming up with plans or ideas.

As for abilities, here’s a list of powers that could be fitting for Sunstone. Possibly to match the sun theme or their personality.

Fire Manipulation or Plasma Manipulation

Thermal Manipulation

Solar Energy Absorption or Energy Absorption

Light Aura, Plasma Aura, or Fire Aura

Combustion Inducement

Suffering Absorption, based on Sunstone’s metaphysical ability to help you deal with your painful memories and past mistakes.

Solar Empowerment

Gravity Manipulation, because of the sun’s gravitation pull that results in our solar system circling around it.

Heliokinetic Combat

Weather Manipulation, as the sun is heavily associated with the weather.

And finally, weapon. Based on the above, I think a bow and arrow could work. Bows have an association with free-spirited people, and they were an icon of the Greek and Roman god of the sun, Apollo. Other weapons I can see as a fitting weapon are chakrams or wind and fire wheels. They could also have a weapon made out of the elements they wield, such as the above weapons or a sword made out of plasma or fire.

Gem role and abilities for Phenacite?

Phenakite is often mistaken for quartz, and its name derives from a word meaning “deceiver” because of that. Perhaps they could take a similar soldier or fighting role like Quartzes?As for abilities, perhaps they could be great impersonaters of other Gems (as in, beyond what a normal Gem would achieve with shapeshifting) as a reference to the “deceiver” thing?They can also melt through ice apparently, so maybe some form of cryokinesis?

Do you have any ideas for powers of an iolite?

Iolites are also called “water sapphire” and “Viking’s compass” because of their ability to help one locate the sun (and thus navigate the ocean) during cloudy, sun-obscuring weather. Perhaps an Iolite would have an intuitive sense of direction, or be able to stand on water? 

While Homeworld doesn’t have the same weather patterns as Earth, it’s possible an Iolite could predict changes in the weather or when a natural disaster is about to occur, as a reference to the “sapphire” part of their name?

If you want them to have control over a particular element: water, lightning, or clouds seem like they would make sense!

I hope this isn't a weird question, but what kind of gemsona would be likely to have the ability to create portals as a special ability?

I’m thinking some Sci-Fi themed gems, like

TV Stone (Ulexite) since it has some odd optical properties and TVs give a sort of “portal to another world” impression in a lot of sci-fis

Technetium, being named after the Greek word for “artificial” which is where “technology” comes from has a pretty sci-fi vibe

Alien Eye Fluorite definitely has a sci-fi theme and honestly kinda looks like it contains a miniature portal jfjfdjkgs

Other than standard quartz abilities what powers would Aventurine have?

Something to do with chance, maybe? The name comes from a phrase meaning “by chance” which could hint at some type of manipulation of probability or luck! For a Quartz, I imagine it’d be something like: when they’re fighting, it just so happens that the enemy loses their footing or their grip on their weapon slips, and oops oh no Aventurine poofed them! How lucky.In non fighting situations, Aventurine would probably really good at finding things or winning chance oriented games!

Abilities and weapon for Cerasite

Ability: Bloom, helps fertilize and grow life on planets to better soil for gem production.

Weapon: I would go with a pick or a shovel!

Suggestions for ability, weapon and homeworld job for a purple Topaz? Thanks!

Howdy! Purple Topazes are connected with balance, revealing flaws in logic, and protection from harmful people. Knowing this, for a job for a Purple Topaz I would suggest something with justice or law! You could have them do something along the lines of apprehending gems who aren’t doing what they’re supposed to do, or even make sure they get shattered or poofed when they have to be. You could also have a Purple Topaz be something that has to do with order, such as an Agate’s job, controlling the other Amethysts. I would definitely not put them in as something common like a soldier, because of their lack of being used industrially. 

For the ability of a Purple Topaz, Topaz translates into fire, so you might want to have something with pyrokinesis! Or, if you want them to follow the lines of law, you could give them the ability to make gems/people tell the truth, or give them a sense so they can see if someone is lying!

For the weapon of a Purple Topaz, you first need to understand their personality and the general image that they have. Purple Topazes are connected with protection, amplifying the ability to give and receive, and decision making. I would imagine that a Purple Topaz would be someone who might seem tough or rough to people/gems that haven’t gotten to know them, but might eventually get to the point where Topaz was actually nice to them! (If the personality you decided on for your Purple Topaz isn’t the same as this one, feel free to send another ask.) So for connecting this with their weapon, I think they would have something that would be hard to use, and nearly impossible for an amateur to handle. So maybe something like a:

a Bec De Corbin,

Or a Partisan!
