「LAST TRAIN TO TRANCENTRAL」
Namesake: Last train to Trancentral by The KLF.
Appearance: 「Last Train」currently appears as a slightly modernised USRA Light 4-8-2 “Mountain” type locomotive, very similar in modifications to the SOO Line M-20 class. Knowing that won’t mean much to you, here is a picture of it that I drew: image @ deviantart .
Additionally, there is a fireman who is always present the cabin of the locomotive, as he is a part of the Stand itself.
Speed: C (Maximum speed B, acceleration D.)
Precision: C (Non-aplicable)
Ability: 「I’ve Been Working on the Railroad」(American folk song - I prefer an instrumental cover…) is a passive ability that highlights past, present and future locations of railroad tracks. Past tracks are highlighted in a colour similar to how old VHS tapes look like while future lines appear in a futuristic light blue. Present track are also highlighted, but in normal color (making them more visible at night).
Ability: 「Ghost Train」(Song by the North Country Gentlemen) allows the user to change the physical state of the Stand. There are three “forms”: Physical, Spectre and Mist. In physical form the Stand in an interactable entity that even non-stand users can see, hear and feel. It is the only form in which the Stand can be damaged in any way. In spectre form, the Stand continiues to be see-able by everyone, however it is no longer a physical entity, meaning it cannot be interacted with by other entities - the Stand will simply pass through any object in its way and vice versa. However, in mist form, the stand becomes completely invisible and undetectable apart from the air abound it becoming a bit colder. Any changes to the form of the Stand does not affect anyone inside the Stand, as they continue to be physical entities within the Stand. When in mist form, anyone inside the Stand will also become invisible to an outside observer.
Ability: 「Long Black Train」(Song by Josh Turner) allows the user to spawn time period and geographically correct (in this case 1920s-50s USA) objects, entities and rolling stock. These entities behave as they would in real life and are also subject to the effects of 「Ghost Train」. The user can spawn anything from a sheet of paper to advanced weaponry as long the they know these items. Therefore, one cannot simply say “give me the local newspaper from, I don’t know, may 15th, 1923”. One can deploy items with the Stand instead of having to call them in separately.
Ability: 「Train Travellin'」(Song by Dierks Bentley) allows the user to instantly teleport themselves, the Stand and anyone inside the stand to any past, present or future location of standard gauge (1,435’1mm) railroad tracks that the user knows. Momentum is preserved through teleports, although the user can also teleport the train from being stationary into a rolling start or slow the train down from movement by teleporting, albeit by using more energy (the more the user is proficient with this Stand, the more aggressively he can use these abilities). Anyone inside the Stand will not be exposed to the g-forces that would normally be caused by such rapid acceleration or deceleration. There is no limit to how far the user can teleport the Stand, however, the ammount of energy required increases with distance and ammount of items spawned in.
Ability: 「Last Train Home」(Song by the Pat Metheny Group ) When the user dies, he is absorbed into the Stand. Though he can still use the Stand’s abilities, he cannot move more than 4 meters away from the Stand and cannot withdraw it. This forces the user to remain on this earth as a ghost until his purpose is fulfilled or everyone associated with his death perishes. Only then can the Stand user depart on a one way trip to the other side.
This Stand can only be deployed and operated near the user, on any past, present or future location of standard gauge (1,435'1mm) railroad tracks.
This Stand evolves as the user does, which means the Stand itself may change through time. This is only it’s current form.
Damage to the Stand is also done to the user. For instance, damaging the wheels and running gear will also hurt the user’s legs. In addition, the fire in the locomotive’s firebox equals the user’s heart. If the fire goes out the user dies (and vice versa).
The amount of coal and water on the locomotive depicts the user’s hunger and thirst.
This stand may not seem very combat oriented. That’s because it is not. But since 「Long Black Train」lets the usern obtain weapons from the 1920-50s, one can defend myself using it.
Final version of this Stand, untill I make a better image, at least.
And another thing - as Stands are personifications of one’s soul / life energy, I thought about what made me what I am - what influenced my life the most when I set out to design a stand. For me, that was Thomas and Friends, so I made a Stand from that - so this could be my Sutando. Bring on that arrow! :) Try doing this the next time you make a Stand, it’s fun!
