Ableton Live Session Management + Collaboration in the Cloud
I think that one of the biggest obstacles for music program users and music program creators is understanding the difference between logical skills and creative skills. A program like Ableton is meant to be used by creative minds in order to produce something new and wonderful – but that cannot be done without a great deal of technical skill involved. This means that you have to put aside your creative thoughts for a second and learn how to logistically use the software. For many, including me, this is one of the biggest turnoffs about it. You cannot simply start blazing away at the program. You will find yourself stuck and needing help in the process. One way to alleviate this problem is to let others help you. Let them inject their own knowledge into your project, so that when you are stuck you can find someone to help you out. Ableton has created Splice, and it does exactly that. In fact, it offers a timeline of what revisions and adjustments have been made to any one single song. You can clearly see who did what, and why they did it. That also means that each person will have some sort of responsibility for their actions. http://www.djtechtools.com/2013/10/09/splice-ableton-backup-management-and-collaboration-in-the-cloud/
