Abnormalities fanfic- a Fanfic of a Fanfic
Here’s a little drabble for @artistefish Abnormalities AU where Inuyasha and Kagome get captured by scientist. Their fanfic ended right at the night of rhe new moon. Before you read this, go to their account on fanfiction.net and look that up. (I'm on mobile and haven't figured out how to link to something other than a blog) ~ He didn’t like this. He didn’t want to do this anymore. He couldn’t handle this anymore. He couldn’t take it anymore! He was so weak. He hates feeling weak. That’s why he hated the night as a human. But this, this was even worse. And the fact that their prying hands never left him alone. With strange metallic things against him. Sharp objects piercing through his skin, too thin to be teeth, too long and straight to be talons. And something over his mouth and nose that seemed to breathe into him. Especially on this night. But this was different. This time she was here. That familiar scent that brought so many good feelings back. Memories of good emotions instead of pain. A wonderful feeling returning to his heart after so long that he’d nearly forgotten. Even in this weekend state, he could still smell her. But he couldn’t concentrate on it as much. Not with the increasing hands. He didn’t like being touched. Not by strangers. Very rarely would he let anyone even get near him. What made matters worse was that these people, the ones who attacked them, the ones that took her away from him. The ones that caused so much pain that he hadn’t been able to return back to his normal state… They were all able to see him. On this most crucial, most secretive of nights. They knew. It was the night of his greatest weakness, and these people knew. Some part of him, deep down, wanted to cry. But he couldn’t, even if he wanted to. And by this point, he was almost desperate to. But his body grew too weak. Weaker than anything he had ever experienced before. Weaker than being bitten by the leader of the spider heads, weaker than losing so much blood facing the twisted mage, weaker than facing a psychopathic murderer inside the mountain that purified his powers. This… This was so much worse. The only thing that made it bearable now was the trace of her scent.
He didn’t know how long it lasted. An eternity, like the other times. He remembered all the panicking voices when it happened the first night. How they panicked when seeing his state reduce from a restrained red eyed monster to a crippling chained mortal kneeling before confused guards that restrained him. At first thinking he was tricking them, until his claws receded, ears disappear into human ones, and hair darkened. He recalled how most nights involved his body jerking and reacting way more violently than he ever remembered. What were these people? She always said her world wasn’t as dangerous as his. How could she lie to him? Without realizing it, the foreign hands let him be. Disappearing. More forever passed and he felt an attempt to move rise to the surface. This transition wasn’t as violent as the others. He actually had some energy left to awaken. He started with his eyes, that had never felt heavier. It used up all of his strength just to open then a crack. Only making out shapes before the all too familiar brilliant light blinded him once more, shutting them tightly. “Inuyasha?” That gentle voice. That gentle reminder. He wanted to turn his head. But to no avail. He tried to open his lips but barley made them twitch. He could only feel the hum as be spoke. Hi lungs sore. Everything felt sore. He hated it. He hates it so much. But he seemed to distract him from it all. “Hmm…hmmm…mmm…” he couldn’t make out any letters, only the tone he had used so many times before. “I’m here. I’m right here Inuyasha.” Her voice grew closer. He felt a tired whimper rise as he tried to move his hand. To feel her much warmer ones. But never in his life did he feel this helpless. Feeling his bones weigh a ton. Heavier than when the sword was first fixed. His sword. There was a name for it… What was that name? He couldn’t think straight. His mind blurred under all the pain he had endured throughout the years. Or was it centuries? “It’s okay. I’m right here. Just rest. I’ll be here when you wake up.” He felt his eyes prickling. That voice. The one that had left him after finally returning. The one that rushed away from him and hid behind invisible wall before a stench filled the room. One that was sickening and gave him the chills. Something he was way too familiar with. She said she had to go. Something in her voice told him it tore her apart to go. He wanted to whimper. “Hmm…” He winced at the whine. He felt her move. Her back was arched, trying to lean her head to him. “What?” His lips finally parted, separating into a slanted hole. “Don… Don go…” He struggled to say, his body trying to quiver as he answered. He didn’t want her to leave him like that ever again. He felt pain shoot through his body from his hand the moment her hand slipped under his. In an attempt to let him know that she was there. “I’m not going anywhere.” For the first time, he felt a sad excuse for a smile rest on his face. The bruises would be worth it.
