In past posts you talked about writing for a "Big Bang", what exactly is that and how far along are you?

A bigbang is a writing challenge - usually fandom related - that revolves around a certain trope or pairing with the goal of a completed story with a certain amount of words in mind.

For instance, right now DeanCasBigBang submissions are happening - there's a BigBang track and a Minibang track, with 20k and 10k as goals, respectively. So this bigbang challenge is to write a completed story with those minimum word counts that features, in some way, the relationship between Dean and Castiel.

There are many different bigbangs and they are happening constantly. I saw a Samifer BigBang happening around and the ABO one is in its second week of art-author collab right now.

After the story is written, summaries are created by the authors and anonymously submitted into a masterpost where artists can choose the story they would like to illustrate based on summary alone. Once the story has been officially claimed, the author and artists are paired and the artist has a certain amount of time to create art. At the deadline both author and artists post their respective works to the community and their own platforms (AO3, LJ, FF.net and so on) for the rest of the fandom to read and enjoy.

DeanCasBigBang is one of the most organized and clear-cut bigbangs I've ever seen in terms of rules, guidelines and general execution of the timeline, but to be fair I've only been in two other BigBangs in the past few years I've been doing them.

I completed my ABO bigbang about a week before the deadline, and I submitted by DeanCasBigBang about a month ago (hence why I no longer talk about it much, since I don't want to give too much away prior to art claims). My ABO fic is about 35k, and my DCBB fic is almost 67k. 

After reaching the minimum word count length (it varies from challenge to challenge) there is no maximum word count limit. I've seen stories in the 100k+ range and know there will be at least a few in this year's challenge.

when/where is the abo bigbang posted?

We are in the 'Artists and Authors collab for the art' stage, and generally that part takes about a month? If I remember correctly, artists were given about a month last year.

This is the comm where things will get posted (fics/art will also be posted on the authors/artists LJ or AO3 or whichever and linked to the comm) and there should (hopefully) soon be a post where we are given our schedules!

Aha, thanks Anon! I think most of the issue is that I know and understand the backstories of the horror!fic so far and I'm really good at psyching myself up/out, but I'm not sure it's communicating well.

And it's going good! My knee is still sore when I put pressure on it and the cut over my eye is mostly healed. I have a nice couple of bumps on my head though. And my shoulders/back are sore as fuck but otherwise I'm perfectly okay!
