“Here, let me see,” Dean sat next to Castiel, who lay on his back on the bed, leg propped on a pillow.
He removed the bag of frozen peas and examined the wound. The ankle was swollen, bruised. When he touched it gently, Castiel drew in a hissing breath.
“Well, it’s not broken, thank God, just sprained.”
“I’m sorry,” Castiel whispered.
“Don’t worry about it,” Dean began wrapping the bandages. “Just be more careful on the ice. Okay?”
“I promise.” Castiel closed his eyes wearily, “Being human is harder than I thought. It… hurts.”
“Yeah,” Dean sighed, “sometimes it does.”
