Earlier today I was putting on a TV show for my four year old to watch. I said, “Barbie Video Game Hero?” “Like, fer sure!” she said. I guffawed. My four year old is so girl-tastic that she went back in time to learn Valley Talk.

This sweet little abomibaby turns four soon!
I’m still clinging to the happiness of how well my hair behaved Tuesday, and how happy my little family is, and how pretty the weather has been. Little bits of joy in a big ol’ pile of stressful grown-up stuff.
Tomorrow my little baby turns one.
Nothing is more ridiculous or more adorable than the way Alessa settles down in her little bed. One leg goes crooked up here, the other goes straight out that-a-way like an arrow. One arm goes flung away from her like she's reaching for something, and the other knots up in her blanket or goes behind her head. Her head? That tilts back into the pillow whether it's turned straight or to the left or right, unless it's tucked onto her chest making her faced mooshy. The most loveable second chin. Then she wiggles and squirms until she's comfortable, and the snoring (to rival her father's) comences. Tonight she grabbed Alan, the Alien before signing off. I can't take the cuteness, and at the same time, I'm thinking I might just keep her in this co-sleeper until she's 25, or she stops being a cute sleeper. Whichever comes first.
Abomibaby Update: She's going to be seven months old on Saturday, and she's the size of a nine month old. Lessa weighs 17 pounds and five ounces, and is 27.5 inches tall--about to grow out of everything. She's got two bottom teeth, her hair is turning blond, and she sits up on her own for the most part. She's got no interest in crawling, just standing and being tossed up in the air. She speaks in gibberish, or possibly Simlish--not sure which. Her favorite toys are Frog (a frog with teether hands), Pig (an elephant), S.H.A.M. (Silly Haired Alien Man), Cup (a cup), and Pascal (from Tangled). Her favorite shows are Octonauts, Doc McStuffins, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Pooh, and anything with Chris Hardwick. We don't understand why. She waves, smiles, laughs, and motions for Chris to get-get her. She's still breastfed, but eats baby food, too, and her favorite is turkey and rice. She goes to sleep at four am. Never fails. That's her right now, summed up.
