Vampire / Elf - Earth verse

A long time ago in earth history, there used to be a secret elven society. Most wrongly equated them with the fae, as they also seemed to drift in and out of the human realm. At some point, vampires discovered the existence of this elven society and wanted their secrets. The elves were almost all killed, but some were taken captive, some were turned, and some were forced into marriages in order to save themselves.

These elves eventually became ildrat, from a lost elven word. It took time, but the ildrat tore themselves out of the vampires hold and they made their own community.

This is the society which Leoth & Chain grew up in and know. They blend in with humans as much as they can, and keep away from other supernatural creatures. Sometimes, it’s not quite so simple.

do not have a sense of blood lust, although they require blood to survive. 

are capable of magic, increased strength, speed, and shape shifting.

unaffected by silver, garlic, wood and can cross moving water

affected by consecrated holy objects, not unconsecrated ones.

... i just realized i had never really mentioned that “thanedai” is both devotion and also leoth’s title as chase’s personal guard. his life is devoted to the protection of the Du royal bloodline, because he’s of the “lower” Du bloodline, or the blood line of the royal guards of Du.

But he also has a lot of self esteem issues and is quick to put himself down in comparison to someone else. Kind of a doormat.

... anybody shipping w Leoth gotta be able to deal w the fact that he may very well likely always be a little in love with Chase no matter what he says. Which isnt to say he cant be in love with multiple people and it mean just as much, just that the other person gotta understand that. Mostly cause that's kinda normal in Alsalian society really. Or at least falling in love w someone taking a break w other people and then eventually finding their way back if they're bonded. But leoth's not bonded w chase so it's a little different. It doesnt really MEAN anything for him bc he woulsnt understand the jealousy if there was any, but for the other partner it could mean something.

I can't login to chase's blog but just know there's a timeline in which she becomes as dark and evil as everyones worried about and as she kills Leoth she asks him if it was worth it, trying to save her, and he says yes. Because Leoth would burn himself over and over again for her.

Leoth can be bold and confident when he’s doing his soldierly duties, but put him in the usual social situation, or don’t give him any kind of direction to follow and he’s immediately self-conscious, quiet, and shy because that’s really who he is, honestly.

Leoth is the worst when it comes to his own emotions. He will lend an ear to anyone else and ask if everyone is alright but the second anyone does the same for him, he clams up. He needs to be in control of himself at all times and always be rigid, strong. That's what it is to be a knight, to be the selected royal guard of the Du Royal House.

So he bottles his emotions. He doesn't let anyone see him break and the rare times he has let the cracks through, he is quick to hide them.
