what did they want to be when they were younger?

Antonin was always in love with playing the violin. If he could really do anything he wanted, he’d become a professional violinist, going out on stages and playing for big crowds. He’s wanted that since he was a young boy.

some things about Antonin:

he likes people. he likes physical contact. he craves intimacy. he is an only child && is the only heir to the dolohov line; if his aunt geneva gives birth to a boy then the child is next in line to the dolohov legacy. he wears glasses for reading. he has been sexually active since he was 15 years old && it was the summer before his fifth year. his first time was with a 16 year old boy named connor who called him oliver && held his hand. his first meaningful encounter was with pandora && even then it wasn’t actually that big-a deal, just a natural progression from their weird kissing thing. he never wanted a sibling. he has been in love with his best friend for years && has been aware of it almost as long. why his coping strategy was being a playboy is a mystery even to himself. end of sixth year he told pandora he was done. he has no issue with muggles && this is an apathy he learned from his mother. he hates his father && thinks he wants nothing more than to brainwash his son. he loves kids && would actually make a pretty great father. he likes brains more than looks && personality more than brains && a great sens of humour is always a plus. he loves cats && had wanted one since he was six years old. numair is the perfect pet so far as he’s concerned. when he feels guilty, it impairs how he acts in most situations && could potentially either explain or end up stopping his flirtatious behaviour. he has a multitude of friends && likes it that way. he claims three best friends && would do anything for any of them; if they got into a fight with each other for any reason he would feel terrible choosing sides. when kathryn && fabian fight he tends to hide from both of them && usually goes out of his way to prevent them from being near each other long enough to start fighting in the first place. he is perpetually insecure about being accepted by others && it causes him to be ridiculously friendly && flirty when he wants to make a good first impression. he suffers from mild anxiety attacks when under pressure for his own merits {{ ie. exam time }}. he owns a muggle cell phone && uses it to text and use certain apps. his instagram && twitter username is whywoudlinot. he watches muggle crime && legal && medical dramas && references them sometimes. he believes that friendship means more than family. he believes that earned trust means more than owed. he wants to be an unspeakable at the ministry. he hates being called intimidating. he is an absolute dork when he wants to be. he fears defeat && he fears being alone && he is afraid he could give up one day. he is easy to convince to change his mind if he is neutral && he  will stubbornly stick to his final decision {{ even when he is certain he is wrong }}. he is a hopeless romantic && he believes in happily ever after.

Black poisonwood is a neutral wood and is best suited to one who is both strong and versatile.

Dragon heartstring is powerful, well-suited to a stubborn individual.

Relative pliability is in reference to Antonin’s dubious morals: he is neutral to the point that it’s a matter of first-come, first-serve in relation to which side he will choose in the upcoming war, and perhaps the wand could sense that.

Patronus:

Coyote.

The memory he uses to conjure the patronus involves the first time someone assumed that Kathryn and himself were a couple: the teens took one look at each other and opted to play up the assumption in the moment instead of denying it, mostly for the sake of mocking the oblivious observer.

For him, the memory represents -

 a great friendship that defies the beliefs of many non-purebloods (who says the people you’re forced to hang around all your life can’t be your friends?)

the strength of the bond between them (able to communicate a plan without words)

How such ‘trivial’ bonds can be beneficial to all parties.

Himself, on his knees, a quivering mess that is pleading and begging. The thing is desperate and he cannot recognise it until it looks up.

Represents a fear of helplessness and, to a lesser degree, defeat.

Ridikulus, something he struggled to cast at first, eventually led to the things head swelling enough that it a) becomes unrecognisable and b) floats away.

Familiar:

A male LaPerm cat with a tabby-esque coat named Numair.

He has had Numair since first year, which was the deal he made with his parents when he started pleading for a cat at age 6 - when he started Hogwarts, they would pick one.

Numair came from a muggle pet store near Cambridge

Numair is extremely stubborn and clingy; it’s now common to see the cat sitting on the shoulder of Antonin or one of his roommates (especially Gideon Prewett) or otherwise sitting on them or their work in class.

Sexuality:

Bisexual, with a preference for men.
