So what’s Cara Henderson up to in Stranger Things

She’s just trying to keep her brother alive, really!!

Cara is training for the olympics for archery, she’s trying to help raise Dustin to ease some of the pressure from her mom, and family is the single most important thing to her!

Cara is a really good big sister!  She’s always happy to babysit the party, she always makes sure to make time for Dustin, she never dismisses them because of their age, and she always keeps Dustin’s secrets, so when they find El, they’re all confident that she’ll listen and help them, which is how she gets roped into season 1!

So below is my innocent little girl Cara who just seems to have some bad habits. Just hit that little heart if you’d like to plot. 

The Life of Cara:

Is the only daughter born to Beth and Richard Allen- the youngest of five children and the only female to four unruly boys. Cara somehow bought calm into a chaotic household.

She spent most her life living in the shadow of her brother, always following them around and always being referred to as their sister. Never really having an identity of her own against her unruly elder brothers.

Her parents were devout Catholics and the Allen’s would always attend Sunday mass where Cara was placed in the choir and even had her communion when she was twelve years old, perhaps the only time the attention was truly on her.

She grew up living next door to Dante and always harbored a crush on him, but never pursued it knowing the boy next door would never notice someone like her- she saw the girls he went after and she wasn’t his type at all.

Her mother pushed Cara into dance and reading, wanting the only female in the family to have something for herself. Though she loved dancing, her true love lied with history, she would spend hours in the library, mulling over history books and trying to soak it all up.

Despite her love of history, both her parents have always pushed her to pursue studying business at college, believing that history was not a suitable career choice and business would benefit her so much more.

Cara mainly remained a wallflower throughout most of school, only ever being known for her brothers or being Dante’s neighbor. She had a small group of friends and that was enough for her to be happy. She was content remaining invisible because it meant that she got left alone for the most part.

It was towards the end of her Sophomore year, when she was sitting on her driveway late one night reading when Dante approached her, they spent the next few hours talking and before Cara could even believe it, Dante was kissing her and soon she was sneaking him into her room where she lost her virginity to him.

Though the affair continued secretly, him sneaking into her room late at night most evenings- he continued to ignore her in school and whenever they saw one another in public; something that tugged at her heartstrings, especially when she saw him with his girlfriend, though she kept seeing him, believing that she had always loved him first.

Cara was devastated when Dante passed away, still openly mourning him and what she believed they shared together. It wasn’t long after his passing that her parents sent her to a grief counselor to help better process her emotions and what had happened.

The Simple Facts:

Very softly spoken. Hates having to raise her voice or speak in a harsh tone.

Still very devoted to the church and regularly attends mass as well being a leader in youth group.

Is still convinced that Dante loved her and views him with rose tinted glasses, never wanting to see all the bad that he did and how he treated her.

Is very close with all her brothers though they have all left for college now, they still return for most holidays and every other weekend.

Still devoted to history and is the historian for the school counsel.

Tries her best to remain invisible at school, not wanting to draw much attention to herself.

Is very much a neutral good alignment.

Her favorite book series is Harry Potter.

Embarrassingly tried out for the cheerleading squad her Sophomore year and didn’t make the cut, and she still holds that embarrassment.

Always tries to please those around her, even at the expense of herself.

Will go to war beside you if you ask her.

"Mumbo, fuck," Grian breathes, hot against the back of his neck and drawing out the mmm of Mumbo's name, "so hot. You're so hot like this, just- just letting me- I bet you’d let me do any–" Grian cuts himself off, breath punched out of him all at once at the way his cockhead catches against the tight lip of Mumbo's rim mid-forward thrust and they both go still at the feeling - he knows Grian wouldn't just push in but his stomach tightens at the thought that he could. At the thought that Grian’s right, he would let him do anything.

She pushes the camera out of the way entirely, and he’d wince about it falling with a loud and jarring clunk onto the wooden floor of their AIRBNB if he didn’t already know she likes the look of the scuff marks. “Don’t you know how long I’ve wanted you?” And there’s that sharp, twisted up feeling again, like the one from back in the car together when she’d put her hand on his thigh and let her fingertip trace along the inseam of his jeans - it’s something low in his belly that clenches tight and warm and he gets an arm around her back, gets them rolled over so he’s fully covering her much smaller body with his own – “That’s gonna make him so jealous,” Mumbo points out and her huff of bright, soft laughter gives him honest-to-god butterflies.

thoughts time!

god, i truly fell in love with writing proper 100 word drabbles and i can't thank @grianhole and @blacktofade enough for enabling me - we did wanksgiving, we did some spotify wrapped, and we started our own hole-idays just so we could keep on going

sure my word count is nowhere near as impressive as it's been in previous years but i had fun and that's so much more important tbh

i hope there are more holidays that we can turn into smut drabble fests!

also, it was SO FUN just getting to answer a shitload of prompts that let me play around with these mcyt's who've been making me crazy all year (thank you so much everyone who got all up in my ask, you probably know who you are but i'm tagging @tangotekked directly because THAT name i see alllllll the time)

what else...

this year i fell back in love with playing games and a big part of that was tripping and falling into the minecraft fandom, sure, (which i was NOT expecting but i don't think anyone was expecting grian to pull out shock collars at a charity event 🫠) BUT an even bigger part of that was getting to spend so, so much time with @sparklingbinjuice play minecraft and phasmo and repo and and and which is just always The Best part of my day 💖

i can't say enough good things about abby, i just love her.

i didn't chat with them as often as usual, but it's forever nice that i can still nudge @unlikelymilliner and @the-ravening in the ol' group chat throughout the year even when our fandoms don't align haha

SPEAKING of group chats, and yeah, i'm going to mention them again - i'm so stupid grateful for fie and jo and the way that chat goes hard any time something new happens with our faves

it's just, such a good time, i'm spoiled rotten over there

also thank you thank you thank you to the regulars who show up in my inbox every time mr mumbo jumbo posts literally anything, you give me life and i appreciate you so much - let's keep that energy going, maybe one day we get a proper harness pic 🙏
