Cyno is a reincarnation of King Deshret's twin that had died while they were young. The twin was the god of justice, hence why Cyno has such a strong connection to it, and such strong powers pertaining to keeping justice.

Along with Anubis, there is a part of Deshret's own soul within him that seems to only come out when Cyno is in mortal danger.

His own past also allows him to activate necessary mechanisms without the use of a slate, and the throne reacts strongly to him without taking him with it, instead awakening these old memories.

There is but a few eremites and desert folk who have seen murals of King Deshret, and they seem to be quite fond of Cyno too, part sensing his power, and in part because he simply reminds them of their god.

//So, one thing about Cyno is: for as open as he is about his emotions and as distant as he is from his trauma, when it comes to affection, he's a lot more closed off and frankly terrified of it. He's seen immortals fall, even if those memories are repressed, seen those he cared for die and suffer. And being an immortal himself only worsens that because it makes him automatically reject any relationship other than friendship with a mortal. Friends in general aren't a problem, he can easily convince himself he doesn't care once they're gone. (He does. His mind just represses the memories of them just like anything else that hurts deep), but he's got a much harder time doing that for someone he'd allowed himself to love. He'll most likely just try to convince himself it's friendship until he can't anymore and then bash his head into a wall over it until it either passes or he's convinced into giving it a shot.
