The Ward Family's War Within Story
Post-Dragonflight/Pre-War Within
With Gilneas reclaimed Damien moved back to his home kingdom, found his old home in the city and began rebuilding. He not only was rebuilding his own home, but helped with building around the city feeling it was his duty to do so. It has been a long process, but every little bit helps and he feels like he has regained a part of himself that was lost.
Beginning of War Within
The events that kicked off War Within did not affect Damien directly, but it did affect his cousin, Lukas Ward. The young Kirin Tor mage was among the many who were in Dalaran when it was attacked by Xal'atath and the Nerubians. However, Lukas was one of the lucky ones who survived the ordeal finding himself stranded on the shores of the Isle of Dorn! Eventually he made his way to Dornogal where he learned more about Khaz Algar and mourned his fallen friends who lived in Dalaran.
Liberation of Undermine
After some time Lukas began to hear of this mysterious substance known as the Black Blood, its properties were strange and magical, and his studies of the mysterious liquid led him to Undermine. It was here he began trying to get his hands on Black Blood, but to no avail, so he sought out the help of Damien. Who better to sneak around and do some detective work on the the Black Blood? And it turned out Damien's years as a vigilante came in handy as well.. sometimes gold can't get you everything you want.
Retirement from SI:7
As the events of K'aresh came to a close, back on Azeroth another man's story came to a close as well. After decades of serving the SI:7, Damien's father, Miles Ward, finally retired or rather was heavily pushed into retirement by the organization as he was now in his mid-60s. If he could he would have continued to serve the Alliance, but he reluctantly has accepted that it is time to find new meaning in his life going forward. Perhaps moving to Gilneas to be around Damien and his granddaughter.
(Sorry this one isn't as detailed as the one I did for Aidan, alas there isn't much going on with Damien's life, he is enjoying living back in Gilneas and rebuilding his life.)
