new frederick hc: the first time he met emmeryn, it was in public and relatively early in her reign. he was not yet a knight, he was actually on his way to join, but when he saw people throwing rocks at her he immediately stepped in to bear the brunt of the attack and then chastised the fuck out of all of them standing there. I like the idea of him not yet being a knight when this happens because it highlights how dedicated he is, no matter his position, and it’d be a perfect reason as to why emmeryn trusts him so explicitly in guarding chrom and lissa

i feel like most of frederick’s interactions go like;

‘When I was but a young boy, I lived in a small village in the hills. One day I wandered into the forest, where I was set upon by a mountain wolf. My wounds were most grievous...many in the village doubted I would survive.' I think this is the only time frederick talks about his childhood and home life. Personally, I like the idea that he has several siblings, of which is the oldest, and he was always tasked with helping with every odd and end, thus developing his mindset, his patience, and even his skills from an early age, 

but ofc that leaves that he is charged with protecting prince chrom himself, and there’s a few ways to play this and nothing is ever really said? I like the idea that his dad was a knight and he earned his spot both with the relation and his skills, which seems likely? and i feel like frederick was fed a lot of stories about knighthood and just had aspirations to be like his dad. ahhh idk i always feel weak with my frederick hcs ??? maybe his mom scrounged a lot to make sure he could be taught well. my brain is stuck on the idea that he at least didnt grow up in any sort of luxury and has always been used to doing hard work. it’s why he has such a hard time relaxing

For whatever reason, I have decided that Frederick’s four siblings are one brother and three sisters. The order goes:

They lived in a ‘village in the hills’ which is like, all the info we get of his past from supports iirc. and there were bears there lol I don’t really have much on their personalities yet but I’ll maybe do more hc posts on them at some point. But they were raised on a farm. a small plot they used for vegetables for the house and then a lot of sheep? A dog he trained? I’m thinkin’ on it
