5 Headcanons about Greta Catchlove
Greta is the only child to parents Annette and Kevin Catchlove, and is, as her parents say, ‘The apple of their eye’. She was always surrounded by pure, unconditional love by her parents. When she started at Hogwarts, it took her a long time to become settled in her new environment. Greta wasn’t the bubbly, ‘Mum friend’ that her friends describe her as now until she started her second year at Hogwarts.
Her Aunt, Elizabeth, or Betty, as she’s known to Greta, was the person that taught Greta to cook and bake. The two baking and cooking became almost a tradition, every Sunday Betty would babysit Greta and they’d bake for Greta’s parents. It’s a tradition the two keep to this day.
Greta’s cooking book, Charm Your Own Cheese would be released at the wrong time, 5 years after the First Wizarding War came to an end, most people were still trying to get their life back, and didn’t have the money to spend on cooking books such as Greta’s. She had lost more money than she had earned from publicising it. She survives the Second Wizarding War, and will rerelease a revised edition under an alias Greda Curd.
Despite being in the Order of the Phoenix, Greta isn’t as active in the war as other members in the Order. She was more of a supporting player in the events, offering her home as a safe place for the other members.
After the war, Greta discovers that she can’t have kids. Learning this, Greta was upset for a long time, along with her cooking dreams, having a family of her own was one of her biggest dreams. After a few years trying to change this medical outcome, Greta decided to foster and eventually adopt newly parentless kids from the war.
