so I've been doing some serious character development for Keira's parents and here they are:
Keira's mom is named Elise Goldensword. She's from Marleybone, but only lived there until she was about three before moving with her family to Krokotopia, where she was raised.
Appearance-wise, she has very thick, curly, long ash-blonde-red hair. Her skin is relatively fair, being from Marleybone, but the sun of Krokotopia has had a noticeable effect. She is average height, if not a little taller than average, and has green eyes. True to her name, she carries a sword, which can double as her wand. She prefers to wear Krokotopian clothing.
While growing up, Elise realized a startling fact - she was equally skilled in both Theurgy and Sorcery! Therefore, even though Keira's mother is known as a Theurgist for the purpose of title/official documents, she has natural dual mastery and is technically a Wizard of two schools!
She moved back to Marleybone when she was about 23 to find a job in journalism, as she thought the career would suit her. It did, but being Marleybone, there were scandals and new events popping up around every corner. She didn't mind this - she just hated the "rude people" and "cold weather" of Marleybone. It remains one of her least favorite worlds of the Spiral.
Eventually, Elise was caught in the crossfire while reporting on a fight breaking out in the Marleybonian streets. She had to use her magical abilities to get out of it, which led to her quitting her job and fleeing Marleybone for her own safety. To be completely honest, she was quite glad to leave.
She wandered the Spiral for a while and eventually ended up in Wizard City, which was where she met Keira's father.
Keira's dad is named Alder Crowspear. He's from Dragonspyre (and definitely looks it), and has a mixture of Wizard City and Dragonspyrean ancestry.
Appearance-wise, he has curly black hair that he keeps cut short, and a beard that he keeps short as well. He has the posture of a military man, and a very stern face with an angular jaw. Fair skin, hazel eyes, average height. Usually seen in his Dragonspyre Battalion armor, with a dramatic whooshy cape. His staff is wooden and has a crow carved at the top, its wings outstretched, holding an orb in its talons.
Alder is a Necromancer, with a secondary of Pyromancy. He led a mostly uneventful life in Dragonspyre, had a few years of study at Ravenwood, and then decided he wanted to join the Dragonspyre military. He worked his way up to the Commandant of one of Dragonspyre's many battalions, and was well-liked by the men and women under his command.
He left to travel for a while, still on-call since conflict could arise at any time, and met Elise during a stay in Wizard City.
He was off-world during the destruction of Dragonspyre, and word only reached him at the last minute. He rushed off immediately, but was only able to arrive toward the end of the fight, when Malistaire was in the process of destroying the world. He can never forgive his former professor, and is still devastated to this day. He insists that Keira focus heavily on history "so that it may never repeat itself."
