Kodi was born to a reclusive mountain dwelling tribe that venerated the night sky and everything in it. Black magick, shamanism, and a crude and imprecise version of astromancy shaped the people.
Lived with her tribesfolk for near on thirteen summers before her parents’ ever-diminishing reputation with the clan came to a head with them losing theirs.
Ostracized due to ‘weak lineage’ and sacrilege, though the latter was an invented charge.
Took to more ‘civilized’ lands quickly, with a hard focus on proving that one’s blood has nothing to do what they were capable of.
Following seventeen years of hedge wizardry and learning about Othardian magicks, Kodi happened upon a misplaced book detailing the trials and tribulations of a traveling thaumaturge looking to understand ‘The Black’. Taking this as an opportunity to expand her power further, she took to Eorzea to learn what she could about the terrible powers hidden there.
