Concept: midriff-baring wizard robes.

I feel like there are two ways to go about this.

1) a crop top with a skirt, but then you’d really need some sort of cape to cover the back to make it look still remotely like a traditional wizard robe. And it would possibly lose some of its androgynous qualities that I associate with wizard robes as a shapeless floor length shift garment is better at hiding body shapes than a skirt and crop top.

2) a wizard robe, but with a hole cut out in front to show the midriff. I feel like this would work best, except during movement it may show more than just the midriff.

Additional concept: a wizard attempts to create robes with an integrated dimensional portal so as to display their midriff without compromising structural integrity or revealing unwanted portions of the body. It works, after a fashion, but the hole proves to display someone else’s midriff; investigation is presently underway to determine precisely whose.
