Lucy (from The Dream Warp Series): I mean, my story is amazing! I have an ability that so few have, and I’ve done so much with it... I think it’d be doing the world a disservice not to tell our story.

Jim (Lucy’s father): I mean my baby girl pretty much just said it. The story is too incredible not to tell.

Lisa (Lucy’s mother): I guess I can’t really plead my case. Compared to my husband and daughter, my story isn’t worth anything. But I did marry the most incredible man on this planet and had two beautiful, amazing girls... so if that is a story not worth telling, then I guess mine isn’t.

my favorite thing is when religious muses follow lisa! because she was born and raised into that small town southern baptist environment. She does keep her faith semi private and close to her heart, but if she does have her moments when she talks about it. It’s sorta rare that she actually delves into her beliefs, but she has spoken on them.

It’s one of the reasons when the divine interact with her that she isn’t exactly afraid or ready to run because she does believe in them in some fashion. She may not know all the angels and demons names, or ancient gods and goddesses, but she does have a belief system. Though, that’s not to say that she won’t be crying because what Christian actually ever expects to meet any creature of divinity? That would be overwhelming because while faith is faith -- it’s something totally different to have those beliefs actually confirmed in some way. But, be prepared for her to get very attached because being something divine is something that is intricately connected to her own personal faith -- she will selfishly yet curiously want to be around this being. Religion, second to being a mother, is what developed her into the personality that she holds.

✖ lisa’s hometown ✖ 

Lisa and her family are from Piddling, Virginia ( fictional town ) about an hour and a half, maybe two from Richmond. It’s a little town, holding about a 3,500 population. Nineteen miles away is the closest city where they can go to Wal-Mart for groceries or to get fast food and shitty Mexican food.

Piddling’s holds a high count of intimate partner violence reports and arrests of people that have beaten the holy dog shit out of an abuser ( usually a family or close friend of the victim beats up the abuser ). Amphetamines are a big problem and meth is made in certain subdivisions. It’s a dry county but there’s a liquor store right on the county line that everyone goes to.

Internet wasn’t widely available until late 2008 and Verizon/AT&T cell phone towers came in to the county in 2006-07 that made it so the rural areas had access to cell phone service.

The schools are actually decent,though traditional in teaching strategies. Year by year the schools manage to be recognized in excellence and maintain high state test scores...though everyone knows the teachers are fairly lax on regulations and rules on the proctoring of state tests.

There’s been 3 murders in Piddling in the last 40 or so years. One of a woman that hit her husband with a frying pan in 2004, the second of a man that killed his father-in-law in anger in 2012 , and a bar fight gone wrong that left a man bleeding in the gravel parking lot from a knife to the gut ( his murderer was a member of the local kkk group who was given a sentence of only 2 years ) in 1962
