Let's do both! Because I have thought way too much about this character and cannot be stopped.
Mutt's childhood room was the smallest bedroom in a three-bedroom home, barely above a storage closet in size. His bed had to be disassembled to be removed when it was replaced during his teen years. Which would be fine, except that his parents insisted on also storing childhood stuff they refused to throw out in bins under the bed and in the closet. He was literally being crowded out by his own fake identity as a girl and all the physical items she left behind. By the time he fled home there was barely walking room in there around bins of old prom dresses, old photos and toys, things that weren't him anymore.
On the streets he slept using a bedroll, or rough someplace with his bag strapped to his front so nobody would steal his stuff. Literally the bare minimum. It was the same but... dirtier and less safe while he was stuck with the Bakers, with the bonus of Lucas stealing most of his belongings and using them as "prizes" for testing out his inventions.
Now, in Hisui, he goes out of his way to make sure his quarters are clean and comfortable and secure to a neurotypical standard- treating it more like a school locker or dorm room than a place he lives. (He's worried about possible inspections/snooping peers/thieves.) The biggest change is all the little accessibility things for his species- a foot-washing basin next to the door, kneeling cushions, a pillow that can accommodate his horns when he lays on his side. He also makes a point of mostly closing off the space his futon is in to feel safer using a standing screen.
🚬 - Do they drink/do drugs?
He'll pop stimulant tablets sometimes, in order to get the most out of a bit of foraging or scavenging... but otherwise the strongest thing he'll drink is coffee.
He'd rather face the horrors sober and alert thank you.

the steadfast
your soul is filled with the strength of one who has watched too many break before them. you set high standards for yourself and those around you, sometimes impossible marks. you know how the world should be and you're determined to make it so. was tough love what you needed? or was it the only thing you were ever offered. there are some things you cannot bend to your will and your bones will break before you turn back the tide. let go a little and breathe in the air. have you even stopped to look at the empire you built? have you noticed how far you've come?

Even if for different reasons, both Boss and Mutt didn’t like parties in general
Boss (UF! Filch) because is a dangerous bandit on the loose and Mutt (UF! kaynine) because he’s a supreme butt, generally speaking... the only moment when i see him taking part to a party is for studying a way to end someone’s life that was invited to that party, too.
