Nora stood in a white simple silk dress; by all means she should’ve been happy, getting ready for her wedding and life as Mrs. Halvorsen. Tears streaked down her face as she stood in front of the wall length mirror. This wasn’t her day, this wasn’t what she wanted, she wanted to run and never look back but the firm grip on her shoulder held her there, captive. “Stop this cryn’ now child” the voice that used to be so soft and calming to her now a knife, digging into her heart and ripping it out. “M..mother please, I don’t want this..” she sniffled. She was so young, so innocent and he was just an old Pastor of a Church that took up half the landmass of their small town, with wandering eyes and hands. “NO, you will go get dressed and stop this nonsense, you are doing this for your family, now go” the older woman shoved her to a small dressing room, a large white fluffy dress hung on the wall. She didn’t even get to pick that. The wetness on her cheeks stayed as she silently unzipped the expensive gown and slipped it on. It was scratchy and stiff.

Three good dogs and one dog who destroyed a new bed.

It’s very rare that people say to me in person, “Oh, you have that dog that looks like a toller!” when my dog isn’t present.

And yet it happened to me at work the other day.
