Welcome. You don't know me yet, so allow me to tell you: I'm a freelance music journalist who does a lot of behind-the-scenes side work in indie rock. When I was a kid I wanted to be either an investigative nonfiction writer or a neo-beatnik prose burnout, so now I'm both. Bands win me over when I like them as artists as much as I like their art. My hobbies include music, digital photography, nubby-sweater-collecting, and coffee-drinking. I love animals (esp. cats), tactile textile textures, and saturated colors. I travel around America quite often, sometimes don't comb my hair, and happen to think Solange is far superior to Beyonce. Though I can hang with the dudes like a champ, my favorite people are pretty much all women. I am also a full-time feminist culture critic and sexual-assault survivors' advocate, so you might not like me very often if at all, and I'm fine with that.
