Speakeasy!AU THNR

Tristan Erba: A member of the Valian Loyalist Front or as most people know them by, the Erba Gang. Picked up by Reven’s unit in the great war as a child soldier, he’s not as frantic as the rest of them but loves to fight. A real roughhouser, you can see him around as hired muscle or starting (And finishing) bar fights across town.

Himmel Arbalest: A rookie cop. As in the main verse his goal here is to do as little work as possible which means reducing the amount of paper work he has to do. If that means hes gotta turn the other way when theres gangsters running about he’ll do it. And if it means he’s gotta arrest a crime lord to explain why a neighborhood burned down he’ll do that too. If he’s gotta do something he’ll do it as efficiently as possible, a dangerous enemy to provoke.

Kirisi Noir: A journalist recording this crazy time in Vale’s history. She writes a column called “Advice from the Love Angel!” where she gives questionable but popular relationship advice. Occasionally she breaks a major story but those are few and far between. She’s a frequent visitor at the various blind tigers across Vale looking for juicy gossip but if you get her drunk enough sometimes the opposite will happen.

Lune Rivers: Lune and his brother run an independent underground brewery called the Rivera Brothers and they sell to the many speakeasys across Vale.  While they started out small, their new drink, “The Promised Land.” is considered an act of genius with demand greatly outweighing supply, and the money just rolls on in. Their goal is to stay independent as the many gangs and syndicates want to control that all to themselves.

Does anyone on Team THNR have food allergies or dietary restrictions?

That is an interesting question that i have never approached. 

I’d say no not really, Himmel has a minor allergy to shellfish but besides that everyone is good. 

Lune however with his snake tongue has difficulty eating certain foods such as food pastes (Like Peanut butter for example) its not that he cant eat it but it takes some additional effort to get it down.

Fathers of THNR

Reven Erba, a living legend and the father of Tristan and Colm. As an important figure in my verse i have already stated alot about him but he is considered one of the finest graduates of Beacon. He is a controversial figure. Despite being trained as a Hunter he works as a mercenary and only follows his own beliefs. The Council really doesnt want anything to do with him. They are often debates to have his name removed from beacon’s alumni. A hero to some and a villain to others. 

Rainer Arbalest is born into the proud Arbalest family and is the father of Himmel. He is obsessed with tradition and the standing of his family who have always been aristocrats of Atlas. His horrid upbringing of Himmel is the result of that obsession. 

Olin Noir is the father of Kirisi Noir. A simple man who works a white collar job at a office in Vale. He was heavily against Kirisi becoming a Huntress, it was an extremely dangerous job and he simply didnt want his gentle daughter involved in it. Eventually he was “convinced” by a few recruiters from the council. He hopes she will come to her senses and quit.

Kaiden Gail, the unmet father of Lune and Solis. A traveling snake faunus doctor in Mistral. He was a frequent guest of Lune’s village long before he was born. He was known to travel to different villages and mines where conditions were sub optimal. A foolish man who was too altruistic for his own good. His current whereabouts are unknown.

Team THNR: What's your relationship with your dads like?

Himmel scoffed and shrugged. “Doesn’t really matter.” And thats all he had to say on the matter. 

Kirisi smiled. “Dad is very kind but worries alot. He wasnt very...thrilled about my choice to apply to Beacon or becoming a huntress. Im sure, if he met Lune or Tristan they would know im in good hands.” The blonde gave a sad laugh as if to convince herself.

“I never knew him.” Lune looked away surprisingly coldly. 

Tristan remained silent for a solid a couple of minutes. “Who knows.” The leader gave a soft grin. 

Mun notes: 

Himmel’s father is very abusive, Himmel no longer sees him as his father and his father doesnt even see Himmel as his son just an object that he has.

Kirisi’s father was the most objective to her decision to become a hunter. It made her cry for a long time, she really wants him to support her. 

Lune never met his father as he took off before he even knew Lune’s mother was pregnant. Lune can’t help but feel animosity for a figure that was never there for him during the trials of his life.

Tristan and Reven’s relationship is very complicated. They are close but its not completely Father and Son like. Tristan has not once addressed Reven as father even once. But they feel a sense of belonging and understand each other. Its alot more like a mentor and teacher relationship then anything.

Would any member of THNR turn to the dark side? If so, who would, and how?

My my that is an interesting question.

I wouldnt rule any of them out to be honest. The obvious answer would be Tristan.

From the very beginning he is most morally grey within the group. He doesn’t hold loyalty to Beacon, Vale or anyone. Only to those who fight beside him. As an Erba he is only concerned with upholding is own sense of justice and if that went against the state then i guess you could consider that going to the dark side. He is Chaotic Neutral after all. 

Himmel would follow Tristan. That’s all there is to it really. He is a follower and Tristan is the only person he even trusts.

I’d like to say its unlikely for Kirisi but she is prone to emotional abuse so its possible if its done while she is inexperienced. 

For Lune who could really say. On one hand he’d die for his ideals and expected to die after betraying Hydra, the fact that he is alive is a miracle by itself. On the other hand even ideals can betray you. Just look at Cato...

Overall i dont think you could place this group anywhere on the good or bad guy spectrum. Tristan leads the team trying to encourage them to make their own way and form their own values. One day its possible they could be on the opposite side of their fellow students.

Polyamorous

I dont remember if i have stated this before but Reven is polyamorous which resulted in Colm and Tristan. Their parents were on good terms. 

Future!Kirisi might potentially be open to such an arrangement.

♥ - What does ‘love’ mean to them?

Tristan:  Thats something he probably would be incapable of explaining. He himself doesn't understand it either, the closest thing he knows is camaraderie.

Himmel: No clue. For a loner it’d probably be simply wanting to be with someone when he doesnt need to. 

Kirisi: Thats the million dollar question isnt it? For her its a very complex thing. Its beyond just a feeling. Its a sense of belonging. A sense of want, and a shift in mentality. Of not being singular. I have barely scratched on the surface of what she believes in but its an important subject for her.

Lune: To do things that are not logical or rational. To take chances you know have a chance of failing. An emotion that overrides it all. 

♠ - What are they afraid of?

Tristan: He doesnt have a large list of conventional fears. As an Erba he is only concerned about proving his self to himself. So shame or someone elses opinion means nothing to him. If anything i guess it would be betraying himself. 

Himmel: Being sent back to his parents, Glynda Goodwitch, having to do work. You know typical shitlord himmel things

Kirisi: Being stabbed, broken limbs, scars, The Grimm, bats, bad hair days, death, ect. To be quite honest she is still just a civilian. She is not a fearless hunter and even the red eyes of the grimm make her shake. It doesnt help that she feels every emotion twice as hard which includes fear and terror. 

Lune: Dying without achieving anything. Solis getting himself into a situation where he cant return, betrayal by his friends and those he trusts. 

♫ - What kind of music do they enjoy?

Tristan: While they are not really songs, simple stuff like drums, nature sounds, and other calming and soothing styles. 

Himmel: Classical if for nothing else then that he was raised to it so thats what he is used to. 

Kirisi: A wide genre. She likes discovering new forms like rap and rock (although she knows she could never perform that style). Hip pop and more soothing songs are what she likes to sing as well as alternative and more vocal heavy songs. Melodies are her favorite.

Lune: Jazz, alternative rock, its tough to say but alot rythum type music would appeal to him.

✭ - an obscure interest

Hm tough one.

For Tristan its fighting styles. The different techniques and ideals that incorporate a stance and movement. Swordfighting in particular holds the greatest amount of interest to him. 

Himmel really doesnt hold alot of interest in most things. I guess the closest would be Art for Himmel which is a little strange for his profession. Additionally he likes fishing because its peaceful. 

Singing is a given for Kirisi. She is also interested in photography, orchestral and other arsty stuff. 

As for Lune its machinery and how things work. While some people just make their weapons and be done with it, he practices every day and is a fantastic engineer.
