About Greed!Ed
This is a SERIOUS work in progress…
Based in 03, Greed!Ed stems from an alternate ending of this series. When Al attempts to use the philosopher’s stone to bring Ed back, instead of succeeding, he fails, only able to restore the elder brother’s body but not his soul, losing himself in the process. Roy, after the battle with Bradley (Where he doesn’t get beat up QUITE as much) comes down to underground city, to the ballroom, and finds Ed dead. In a fit of despair, unable to handle that he’s lost not only Hughes now, but Al… and Ed… HIS Ed… he uses the circles left behind by Dante to try to bring Ed back… He succeeds but what he got wasn’t EXACTLY the eldest Elric. In exchange for his voice, and the organs to create it, Roy brings to life the newest incarnation of Greed. Greed has the power of the Philosopher Stone inside of him in place of the red stones that most of the other Homunculi needed to gain strength. In 03, when the homunculi came in contact with bits of their ‘original’ body, they’d freeze up. In Greed’s case, because his body was made from Ed’s, he suffers what appears to be these seizures when something triggers something in Ed’s memory. In his travels he’s come across the people that were once a part of Ed’s life… and he wants nothing to do with them. Greed sees 'Ed’ as his shadow and nothing more, something that lingers about but has no real shape of it’s own anymore. His general personality is a mix of the original Greed and Ed.
In incarnations where Roy isn’t a part of his life, Greed has taken up in the old one’s haunt, the Devil’s Nest in Dublith. In those where Roy IS a part of his life, Greed stays with Roy in Central.
A note about the Roy in his life. Greed originally came about because of my wonderful Sparky, lowlighthorizons, and they are Greed’s Roy.
