It was most certainly aĀ āGreed thingā, but then there was also a reason for it. He wanted those alchemy books, wanted a chance to study them in a bit more depth. As much as he hated when t happened, maybe something in them would trigger the shadowās memories and be useful. Plus, after what had happened to land him in this place in the first place, now Greed was curious if maybe he could do it again, even if he couldnāt actually get the Gate to open again. Alchemy might actually be a useful thing for them. Wanting it all wasnāt always limited to things after all, he had an avarice for knowledge too⦠something the shadow and he seemed to share sometimes.Ā
Looking about, the sin tried to figure out a way to make this work.Ā āDamn,ā he grumbled, trying in vain to reconfigure one of the bags. He just wished he knew if the Devilās Nest existed in this Amestris and if it did, what state it was in. Heād just figure out a way to have to have it all delivered there⦠they had people in this place that did that sort of thing right?Ā
Taking a break, Greed sat on the floor, his mind still trying to figure out how to not have to leave anything useful behind.Ā āBecause, itās ours now, and I donāt leave anything behind thatās mine, especially if itās usefulā¦ā
Pride watched from the seat heād taken on one of the pieces of rubble near Greed, just high enough to see into the bag and how everything wasnāt fitting right. His little music box was already next to him, with Al curled up asleep on his jacket. Already packed, everything he wanted and felt need to bring was able to fit in his pockets or liked to stand on his shoulder. Or slept in his arms.Ā
He didnāt see the point of the books,Ā āā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦..useful?ā his head tilted and he frowned,Ā āā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦.butā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦..alchemyās badā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦.and words mix upā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦.useful?ā did that mean Greed actually understood what was on the pages? Pride felt like he did, sometimes, or that someone near him did whenever he looked. It was weird, he didnāt like it, and felt discouraged when he would give up finally. The letters mixing up when he tried reading for too long didnāt help either. Maybe they didnāt mix up for Greed, they hadnāt for Lust or Envy when Pride had asked them about it.
But Pride was pretty sure the books were going to be distinctly Greedās, not his, he didnāt want them anyways. If he was going to try and read something, he wanted something better than alchemy books. It did look like they werenāt going anywhere until Greed had them all though. He was still scared to leave, but someone else there with him made it a little easier to swallow the idea. Pride got up and hopped down, wandering over towards the abandoned chair Father had had, looking around it for anything else. There was still the map with the figures on it, another one with what Pride guessed was all of Amestris. Heād grab that one, just in case. No bags though, where would they find them? Everything they had like that came from outside, or the militaryā¦..
His head popped up over the table, arms folding on it and watching Greed,Ā āā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦.do soldiersā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦have extra bags?ā¦.ā there were stairs to get into Central Command still, the humans must not have found it yet. If they had, soldeirs would have come already to look for them,Ā āā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦..dark firstā¦ā¦ā¦..but can lookā¦ā¦ā¦..I thinkā¦ā¦ā
