Left pectoral—peony, the king of flowers, symbol of wealth and prosperity

“Plying my goodwill with food, Nakahara?” A brow rises and his lips purse as if he even needs to consider whether or not he will consume something from Dyuuku Nakahara’s kitchen. The answer is and will always unequivocally be yes.

Some of his closer advisors have warned him against such trust, reasoning that one day, someone will be able to get to Nakahara, either through greed or fear—his family is lovely, no matter if his wife and he are somewhat estranged; he still cares for her—and that their oyabun will die choking on his own vomit.

It is better than on my own teeth in an alley, he thinks, beginning to nod. “Consider me plied. What have you made? Or is that a secret?”
