yeah abe is losing his mind for a reason. what if the only man who refused to turn his back on you was also a priest with intense self-hatred so you couldn't tell if his love was genuine or a performance that let him avoid his guilt????
the thing about abe is he struggles to understand why domingo would show him any affection so abe's going through this intense cycle of wondering if he loves domingo or if he's capable of love at all. and then domingo is just sitting there, having not thought about any of this in the slightest bc he thinks he's in love with petra, his lesbian best friend. and petra sees both of them as like. cousins.
