"I fear harming you, as I do with all my friends. And I fear angering you to the point that you injure me." He shrugs as if to pass it off as just a small concern, even though it is not.

You know, you keep complaining about not getting sex, but there are plenty of people willing to give it to you. Anders, Nergui, that Shad fellow. Perhaps even Thea again, since she now knows that you'd protect her from E'hla. Maybe Chira, since she's so curious about sex. You could probably talk her into it if you wanted to.

"I do not even know why you care. And you seem to care more about my sex life than I do! You suggest these names to me as if I am some whore looking for just another night of bliss. You state it as though E'hla is someone I would leave just because she does not give me sex for the sake of her own well-being. I do value her for other things, you know. I married her, did I not? And I would do it again, and a thousand times more. That is not something that you do with someone you only want sex from. So stop acting as though it is, and leave me be! If I wanted a whore, I would have gotten a whore. But I do not. At least not since I met her.

A hiss rose in his throat. "Of course you greymages would suggest I do something that would entirely ruin my relationship with my wife. Technically, yes, I could. But I will not. I never want to hurt E'hla like that again."

Wow, you're on a roll! First you break Chira, and now you're putting Thea down! Won't be long before you alienate yourself from the rest of your friends. You know you weren't made for such attachments anyway, right? Better off without them.

Dalamus stares blankly, knowing the words to be true, but instead of feeling sorrow about it, he chose anger to protect himself.

"It was not my fault! Chira asked for answers, and I gave them to her. Thea asked for the truth, and I told it. I am not at fault when I did the morally correct thing! Perhaps they got what they deserved and should not ask questions that they do not want the answers to."

He did not mean what he was saying, but it felt better to blame others than accept that the greymage might be right.

What if Thea did something to seriously piss E'hla off? A while later, E'hla claims to have gotten a contract on her. Do you believe her? Do you let her kill Thea?

"..I doubt Thea would have to try very hard to do that."

The vampire pauses and his brows furrow at the rest of the questions. He swallows and raked a worried hand through his hair. "I.. do not think E'hla would lie to me about such a thing. I hope. I would attempt to try and talk her out of it, because regardless of our fight, Thea is still my friend... I think." It occurred to Dalamus that recent events had made him very uncertain of his own thoughts. It unsettled him.
