Btw, since we’re going into another flu season in a “tripledemic” if you or anyone you know is pregnant the CDC has approved Abrysvo, the first vaccine for pregnant people (weeks 32-36) to protect newborns in the first 6 months of their life from RSV. Beyfortus, a vaccine for babies up to 8 months old (or 19 months for immunodeficient babies), has also been released to protect infants from RSV. Most babies shouldn’t need both. Adults ages 60 and older can be vaccinated for RSV as well.
With covid hospitalizations on the rise again and reports of multi-organ damage months after patients were hospitalized with covid I’d really encourage everyone that can to get a booster as well as the regular flu shot. For most of us this is a really easy and free way to help protect others in our community as well as stay healthy ourselves :•)
