My New Boys!

Someone asked about Sam, and then I spiraled out of control (as you do). 

Absamynth “Sam”

Genderless, but sticks to one human male form

6'0"

Unknown age

Skin - dark brown with almost purple tones

Eyes - deep gold

Hair - very dark brown, near black, in semi-sentient dreadlocks

Likes - most Earth animals and food, domestic human things (beds, kitchen utensils, house plants, etc.)

Dislikes - bugs, cars

Fun Facts - Susceptible to motion sickness. Has 10 eyes (2 normal, 4 on his cheeks, 2 on his palms, 2 beneath his collarbones) and they look nonexistent when closed.

Short Bio - Sam is one of the Old Gods, similar to H.P. Lovecraft’s work. He protects this plane as it’s guardian, keeping everything in check and balanced with the other planes and spacetime. He is particularly fond of Earth and its humans, as they keep the best company. He possesses a host of supernatural and planar powers.

Ambrose “Rosey” Bright

Male (Trans, assigned female at birth)

19 years old, freshman in college (Astronomy)

Works part-time as a tutor at the college (math, astronomy, physics)

Skin - classic caucasian

Eyes - cloudy light blue with glasses

Hair - naturally light brown, but dyes it bright blue

Likes - stargazing, tea

Dislikes - not being able to reach things, sour tastes

Fun Facts - Owns contacts, but hates putting them in and taking them out, so he just wears his glasses. Has hypochondriasis (health anxiety) that can sometimes trigger panic attacks.

Short Bio - Rosey got a full ride to college and immediately booked it out of his transphobic house, but goes back for holidays to see his little sister. He gets financial support from his non-immediate family, and is saving up for top surgery. He’s very quick to love and trust, and always welcomes friends over for tea and just hanging out.

Fun Facts - Very lactose intolerant. Fluent in German.

Short Bio - Luka spent most of his life in Germany, then moved to America for college. He wants to travel the world, and is unsure about what he wants to do in life; he simply wants to live and have life experiences rather than stuck in a classroom learning “useless shit”, to quote him. Otherwise, is a very happy-go-lucky person.

20 years old, part-time sophomore in college (Folklore and Mythology)

Works part-time at local library, part-time in college coffee shop

Skin - coffee with a lot of milk in it

Eyes - a very green hazel with glasses

Hair - ashy brown

Likes - books, cooking

Dislikes - crowds, loud places/things

Fun Facts - Has a Wiccan altar on his coffee table. Has a few symbolic tattoos. Has some sass behind his tongue.

Short Bio - V is very much a book nerd, often spending more time in his books than interacting with people, but he’ll make time for the people he cares about. He leans much more towards the Wiccan and witchcraft side of theology, often trying out ancient rituals and practices to ‘test them out’. It can even get him and his circle of friends into some trouble.

I made an OC page just for you! I’ll post the info about Sam and the others in just a bit.

But no, Rosey doesn’t know about Sam at all. He just thinks he’s a sweet clueless guy who sometimes does weird stuff and has strange quirks.

Absamynth vs The Car (Drabble)

@dont-look-so-good : Maybe a Drabble with motion sick Sam? (I don’t mind what vehicle but seasickness is always great fun)

A/N: This is Sam’s debut! He’s becoming a favorite of mine, but Rosey’s also a really good bean.

These drabbles are gonna be post-on-completion, so errors and plot holes may be abound.

No one really thought that Absamynth would be susceptible to motion sickness. He was one of the Old Gods, teleporting around the plane and dealing with spacetime and varying amounts of gravity. One would think that his inner ear (or whatever balance mechanism his true form consisted of) would be completely calibrated and unshakeable. But his human form was not so unwavering.

He’d offered to pick up Rosey, his neighbor, from university while his car was being towed. He learned driving easily enough, though he was still nervous and kept a laser-like focus on the road. In return, Rosey offered to drive back, and that was the mistake.

Sam shifted uncomfortably in his seat. Something felt so strangely off. The car hadn’t affected him while driving, why was it bothering him now? Rosey took note of his silence and looked over occasionally.

“Something wrong, Sam?”

“Mm, believe I’m coming down with something,” he mumbled back. He’d started to feel hot, and reached over to turn on the AC. Rosey suddenly looked very guilty.

“I’m sorry! If I knew you were sick, I wouldn’t have had you drive!” He said, reaching to pat Sam’s leg. Sam smiled softly. There were some compassionate humans he’d grown fond of, and Rosey was definitely high on his list. He twirled one of his dreadlocks around his dark fingers, smile fading as another wave of heat and nausea washed over him. He shut his eyes and tried to take a deep breath. Things were getting worse at an exponential rate.

“It’s alright, you needed assistance.” His voice caught in his throat a bit, as a strange bitter and metallic taste replaced the words on his tongue. He knew Rosey was saying something, but it seemed to go in and out of range. He could only just barely focus on the red stop sign coming up.

“Well, when we get home, you can come over to my apartment and I’ll make you tea and- Sam? Absamynth?”

But Absamynth was suddenly very aware of what was about to happen. He swallowed hard and waited until they were at a full stop, and immediately tumbled out of the car. The poor god didn’t even register the heaving his stomach made, he just knew that something hot and bitter was spilling from his mouth and onto his shoes and the pavement. His handle on time drifted away, and Sam found himself gasping and knees trembling while his neighbor held his hair back.

“When did...” he coughed and spit to the side, “when did you get there?”

“When I first realized you bailed out of the car. Jesus, Sam, you could’ve said something, I would’ve pulled over!” Rosey scolded a bit, though it was with a very soft and concerned tone.

Sam spit again. “Didn’t realize...until a moment before...”

“Ah, that’s how it is sometimes.”

Rosey was glad he put the emergency lights on, because he and Sam stayed there for a decently long time, off to the side where Sam could sit and breathe. He offered him the small amount of water left in his bottle, again scolding Sam when he tried to refuse.

“You are too selfless sometimes. Are you feeling better at all?”

“A bit.....actually, much better...I thought I was ill?”

Rosey sighed in relief at the improvement and cracked a smile at Sam’s confusion. “Maybe you were just getting carsick, silly.” He offered his hands to help Sam up, though Sam was much taller and bigger than him. “Come on. You can drive the rest of the way, but only if you still come over for tea.”
