Free Rock Shows this Friday and Saturday.

Is your wallet or pocket book a little on the thin side this weekend? Does anyone say pocket book besides my Grandma? (R.I.P) 2awesome events in the next couple of days that are Free Free Free! We all love free shows right?

First tomorrow (Friday 11/13) Hey Marseilles will be playing at noon in Freeway park in Seattle. If you have the day off get out for one of the last days of summer. Would be a nice place to take a long lunch as well.

Saturday night 11/14, Spyn Reset is having their CD release party on the 2nd stage at the Triple door. I know they have worked hard on this new release and will showcase their overly talented skills. This Free event starts at 9.  I hope to run into some of you at one of these shows!

I was looking for something to watch while on the treadmill last night. I don’t know much about LCD soundsystem, but I love me a rock doc. I am kicking myself for not getting into them years ago when they were still active. “Shut up and sing the hits” showcases their last show at Madison square Garden, and the week leading up to the last show. It was a perfect mix of Documentary and live show. It is on Netflix and I suggest you check it out. it is highly recommended to watch when you are on the treadmill as the music gets you going.  I would love to have this live album, just from what I saw in the doc.

Your song of the day. I am digging on this today. This is one of those bands you can’t classify. Has some lo-fi 90’s, with some 80’s, and the modern stuff the kids of today love. I must be a kid because I am loving it. They are from our 2nd favorite city Portland.. Looks like they will be at the Crocodile this Friday. Maybe show them some love. 

I should start interviewing Portland bands when they come up. I would love to talk to these guys.

Song of the week.  Forgive me as I have been in an Alt country, relaxed mood. I think having the Sun out makes me think of birds, big skies, mountains, and road trips. I tend to like Alt country on road trips. Pocket Panda is doing it music wise for the road trip I am taking in my head as I stare out the window on lunch.  Check them out and give them some love.
