For several years now, @abstrackafricana has been one of my biggest sources of inspiration here on Tumblr. From the brilliant and accurate tag line: "secretary for the spirits. i will blow up your dash!!!", to the wandering journey through art, aesthetics, music, sensuality, and soul. Adding literature into the mix, one gets transported to the Harlem Renaissance in one post and modern spoken word the next. Fashion to folk music and much much more.
I share this because it represents the beauty of what this platform has offered, but unfortunately due to policy changes, bloggers and artist like this are now stepping away to revamp how or what they may share on Tumblr in the future. You come to respect the energy and insight and people share through their posts. You appreciate the stalwarts who have continued to stay active and original, who say fuck your definitions, and do things their own way.
@abstrackafricana, whatever the future holds, I know it will be "dirty". Thanks for sharing with us, and we hope to see you back here soon.
