Con report: Abunai!
I went to Abunai! this weekend. What a complete waste of money and time! I had to be there at 10 and listen to the guy who abused me for 3 years talk, so that was fcking A to start.
I had to do a register shift but people didn’t explain, there was a line so I just started helping people. But they weren’t thankful I just overheard them say: ‘normal’ volunteers aren’t allowed to do this but they didn’t take over, no they watched.
Second day was also boring, I had two cloakroom shifts which were kinda fun? But the last on was till 4:30 in the morning. I went to bed at 5:00.
I had some more stuff to do on the final day but I just did the video shift. Medics said I wasn’t allowed to go any further.
Food was downright terrible: I mean, the quality was DECENT but it was over priced and cold. Not to mention you only had unhealthy options; pizza and fries.
The gameroom was a joke. 6hit left and you can tell. The dealerroom was okay I guess?? It was way to hot and people were allowed to bring all sorts of bags.. The stuff they offered was just kinda boring and more or less the same. I DID HOWEVER enjoy the works of the artists!
But what bothered me the most this weekend was over hearing people talk about other cosplayers. I seriously heard people say: OH X IS HERE DRESSED AS Y and the other person went: Yeah but she’s fat so I don’t want to take a picture...
Or
“I know there is another X here but mine is better because i’m thin”
That all seriously happend and I feel so gross.. The Dutch Cosplay community is getting worse every year.
