it’s way fucked up that all these freaks on here can ask for money in exchange for writing or drawing abuse p*rn, and they still act like they’re not responsible for the media they create

like, many abuse victims live in poverty bc of mental illnesses, addiction, having been financially dependent on their abusers etc, and these people have the gall to go “support me on patreon uwu buy me a coffee uwuwuw” when they financially benefit from abuse and abuse being normalized + sexualized because if there was no abuse culture, they wouldn’t be getting $$$

now that i think about it, it could be very useful if we could have a widespread discussion on people's experiences with grooming in fandom, whether it was 1 on 1, in a friend group, or just through interacting with abuse apologism in fandom obviously it won't stop people who are hellbent on being abusers but i think it would really expose how abuse and grooming are major issues in fandom and how a majority of fandom will literally tear you apart for trying to go against it

there are two authors on the Hugos Finalists list that i definitely don't feel good about seeing there... but given that originally people seemed to respond to their victim's allegations based on whether they were friends with/fans of the accused, who have a lot of fandom power, i'm not surprised this seems like a good time to point out that the Hugo ballot has a "No award" option, and that "I don't think we should give awards to people credibly accused of abuse" is a valid reason to use it

remember when people in the t33n w0lf fandom argued that derek can’t be called abusive for abusing a bunch of teenagers because “he’s been through so much” that he “doesn’t owe it to anybody to be nice” (so basically, “some people cope by abusing teenagers and are valid”)

because there are still people out here who would argue that they don’t owe anyone anything and if it helps them to be kin with god and tell everyone to worship them, it’s valid or w/e

“kindness is neurotypical” has to be one of the worst inventions to come from this site and we should just leave that in 2013 or whenever people were arguing that loki coped by trying to kill all humans and thor was abusive for not letting him
