What If?
What if instead of a shoe,
Cinderella lost her virginity and so she ran away,
Changed her name to Wendy,
And running into the lost boys
Begged for their help.
What if instead of a witch,
Hansel and Gretel met a wolf in sheep’s clothing,
A trafficker, who pumped them full of drugs,
And sold them on to the highest bidder.
What if Snow White was a prostitute,
So hooked on drugs to cope,
Her skin was a ghostly pale, and lips a blood red?
What if their prince charmings, or heroes
Never came?
What if?
Because, although witches, warlocks and monsters don’t exist
There are still those that blur the lines,
Between demons, and people.
