This piece was inspired by the Abuta and the Sarsaparilla plants. Both of wich are highly potent plants, widely used in herbal medicine. Sarsaparilla is also used in magick, for health spells, prosperity spells and as an ingredient for house blessings. It is also a common ingredient in love spells. Day 105 (Dec 13) - A partridge in a pear tree

Today we went to Abuta and my back was killing me along with toothache. I was in pain the whole day and therefore was not in any mood to spend time with little kids. I tried my best but honestly the morning wasn't great and I was just counting down the hours.

Then we got our first free time in Abuta in two weeks so we got most of the supplies we needed. Then we had to try to understand what some of the Japanese people at the Abuta office wanted, turns out they wanted us to be Santas. 

Lastly it was the Abuta after school club which was surprisingly fun. My pain had subsided a little so I was in a better mood. We also ended in a game of dodgeball that was 4 v 8.

Then we headed home which was confusing as we’d been told for a few days about some vague lesson we’d have to teach but nothing ever happened with it.

I then watched Miss Peregrines because Yosakoi wasn't on... it was awful, 2 hours I’ll never get back -_-

Day 072 (Nov 10) - American horror story

Onsen was today's first location. Helping out at one of the nurseries for the second time. This time was better. We got to play with the children in the snow, breaking icicles, building snowman, snowball fights.

Then it was off to Abuta where we bought some supplies. Then we bumped into the American JET volunteer. She was obviously bothered by the election so she vented to Liem (because he actually knows the first thing about politics), while I went to the store up the hill to look for some things. 

Then it was the after school club. It was okay -_-

Last but by no means last was a meeting of the Toya International Exchange Board, instead of Kendo. It was at the Lake Toya Cafe so you know the food was great. There were about a dozen members and it lasted about 2 hours. It was hopefully as productive as it was fun.

It was then time to go visit this lake I had seen on google map. we arrived there and waited for the sunset. which was amazing, almost no wind, perfect reflection. the yotei mountain is an active volcano, fuji-like, 1898m high located i hokkaido, kutchan city. just next to the best ski resort of japan, niseko hirafu. I cannot wait to go…
