I found out on my own because Google was not helping… so I wanted to catch a koi in my large pond, and I was catching a dace and then a sweet fish and thought “those are river fish, but I’m catching from a pond”. Lo and behold after trial and error, I started with a 5x5, then a 6x6, 7x7… still pond fish. I counted the length of my large pond at 8 squares on the northern tip, filled in 3 spaces to shorten to 7 length and my pond was a pond again. If you’re wanting pond fish, don’t exceed 7 spaces for your larger ponds.
