Quite the Catch || Dylas & Blue

Blue stood on the lake’s shoreline as he stared across the vast mirror of the sky. In one hand he had a small styrofoam cup with worms and in the other a second-hand fishing rod which was rusting away in some parts. Just as he promised himself, Blue was going fishing to help earn a little extra cash.
However, he quickly it was easier said than done.
Being from a family of wealth who spent little to no time together, Blue had never been fishing before. Heck, he’d never even gone camping to be quite frank. The closest he’d ever gotten to that was spending a night out in Uncle Hank’s barn during the summer.
So, Blue was teaching himself. He’d read a little of the basics at the library, but reading about something and actually doing things were on completely different levels. It’d taken him five tries to get the darn worm skewered to the fishing hook. He’d poked himself enough times in the process that small droplets of blood were wiped on his pants.
Then he tried to cast the line out. He reached over his head and thrust the rod forward, only to be stopped by the hook snagging. Blue turned around to see it stuck to some bushes that’d been behind him. He untangled the line but lost the worm in the process.
After another five minutes of baiting another wriggling worm, Blue was ready to cast the line again. This time the line didn’t snag at all... but it didn’t go out into the water either. Instead it laid at a few feet behind him.
“Damn it!” he cursed, trying to reel the line back in. It was then his ears caught the sound of leaves rustling and—was that laughter? “Who’s there?” he called, glaring in the direction of the noise. Whoever had the balls to make fun of him had better show their face.
