Ryan was Rapo's assistant who was repeatedly denied a raise while only making $35,300 before overtime (and she asked specifically because she couldn't pay her bills with quarantine pay) and "the only Black woman on his staff, [who he treated] like the help." She was also just grossly mistreated and overworked/underpaid. (see business insider article)
Hunzi kind of started off stan Ry week on Tuesday with a bunch of pictures of her on his Instagram story, then other BA staff such as Sohla, Hilary Cadigan and Jesse Sparks followed as well. So now it seems like Priya, Claire and Carla are all jumping on the appreciate Ryan train!

Beca!! They wouldn’t be poems though; they’d be more like songs that she enlists Emily’s help in writing because Beca has an idea of what she wants to say and needs to be able to get the words to flow eloquently but not in a cheesy manner

I think at the end of the day both of them. They’d both love each other very much and hope to see the day their loved one turned back around after becoming so terribly evil
Why aren’t we holding Matt Ducker just as responsible for these things. I get that the brown face photo triggered this, but I feel as though Matt is getting away with another PR non-apology.
Matt Duckor is the head of programming for Bon Appetit, meaning he probably has control over who has shows, show contracts and who is on camera. From his statement he doesn't seem to be taking full responsibility for what happened nor does he seem genuinely remorseful.
He demands for everyone on camera to be compensated but who do you think was in charge of that? Is he really pushing for representation or is he trying to save face?
I think I'd rather have the head of programming to genuinely want fair treatment of their workers and representation rather than someone who will make videos diverse for the sake of diversity after being caught.
Ending on what Hunzi said on monday, "we also received no information from our video team leaders today. The lack of communication is insulting and makes it clear that their priority is company PR or not the well-being of their workers. The video department has nothing to offer without the chefs, writers and presenters, and it is a moral imperative that they contribute financially to the bipoc they have taken advantage of and if they are unable to do so, they must resign."
[in case it's not clear yet I think he should resign and I think people should be vocal about it.]

I like to play in this sandbox - the one with infinite universes in the palm of our hands.
In thinking about this all day, as I unwind...
In one universe, I’m sure Beca woke Chloe up with a gentle kiss against her neck. Then, another against her cheek. Before finally kissing her into wakefulness with a gentle peck against her lips.
They spent the day lounging around because it was the first Friday Chloe has had off from work in a while, so she heads with Beca to the studio and Beca shows her how to not fuck up a track while Chloe marvels at how talented her beautiful, beautiful girlfriend is.
In another universe, where that didn’t happen - whether it’s this one or the next - I’m sure they’re only thinking about how much they love each other and wondering when they’re going to see each other again.

Well done! You’ve captured and wrapped the two together so perfectly. Also the end of that chapter was adorably cute
UGH yes, our conversation still rings in my mind. I love playing with the idea that emotions are more key than memory here, and even then, that’s simplifying it a bit.
