I'm curious, how much time/effort did it take you to make that delicious looking meal with the glazed pork?
(with reference to this post, sorry about the terrible pic lol)It’s about half an hour and not that much work, actually! I made it today while moderately feverish and more than slightly out of it.
Tools needed: Working Stovetop and OvenOVEN-SAFE skilletSheet PanFoilSmall and Medium bowlsTongs or other tool for flipping meatCutting boardTea KettleIngredients:1 pork tenderloin, silverskin trimmed off1 tsp each salt and pepper5 Tbsp cornstarchOlive oil or other cooking oilGlaze:1 cup maple syrup, the real stuff. “pancake syrup” is mostly hugh-fructose corn syrup and will taste gross in this2 Tbsp dijon mustard2 Tbsp bourbon1 Tbsp cider vinegar1/4 tsp each: cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powderBrocolini:1 bunch broccolini (or Asparagus or regular broccoli, it works for all of these. Or carrots!)1 bunch thyme, finely chopped1 Tsp garlic powder, black pepper, maybe salt if you wantPotatoes:1 pouch Idohan brand potoatoes. I’m not kidding they taste exactly the same, are nutritionally the same and take way the fuck less effort. Also no lumps. I don’t like lumps in my potatoes.1-2 Tbsp butterHerb mix to your liking but I like sage, rosemary and nutmeg. Tarragon/chives/garlic is a good mix too.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
rinse and chop up brocolini into 2-3 inch pieces. cover sheet pan with foil, toss broc and herbs with olive oil and spread out on sheet pan in single layer. when oven is preheated, stick ‘em in for 12-20 min depending how crispy you like them
rinse and dry tenderloin, trimming off the silver skin if necessary.
mix cornstarch, salt and pepper together, and thoroughly coat tenderloin in it.
heat oil in oven-safe skillet, and brown tenderloin on all sides, 5-7 minutes per side.
while tenderloin browns, mix glaze ingredients in small bowl. Once tenderloin is done browning, put it on a plate and cover it with foil.
pour excess fat from the skillet and add the glze mix (it’s got booze in it, so it WILL hiss and bubble and whatnot, don’t be a dumbass like me and stand too close at first), and let the glaze cook down and it gets thick and gooey and doesn’t bubble as much.
add tenderloin back to skillet, turn over a few times to coat it, civer the skillet in foil, stick the skillet in the oven with the broc for 8-12 minutes until pork reads 145 on a meat thermometer.
while those roast, turn on kettle for boiling water. follow instructions on pouch, adding butter and herbs. mix thoroughly.
take meat out, put tenderloin on cutting board and cover in foil, let rest for 10 min to make it juicy, then carve into slices. scoop extra glaze into dish to get foodie drizzle effect.
Plate food, take picture and send copy to your mother-in-law to prove you are feeding her son or she calls at 10 PM to ask.
