also my Roman history readings are Plutarch's lives of Sulla, Gaius Marius, and Sertorius. too bad the edition in the bookstore only contains the last one.

TODAY WAS A DAY OF GREAT ACADEMIC SUCCESS:
my adviser didn't judge me
basically approved all of my courses (except for a slight hiccup with the seminar but w/e)
my professor from last semester mailed me back my final paper on eunuchs in the late Roman empire and commented AND I QUOTE: "YOU COULD AT SOME POINT WRITE MORE ON THIS SUBJECT. IT WOULD BE A SIZEABLE CONTRIBUTION TO OUR KNOWLEDGE OF LATE ANTIQUITY. YOU ARE OFF TO A VERY SOLID START"

okay he didn't write it in all caps or bolded but YOU GET THE PICTURE RIGHT??? he basically implied that I could write + publish papers/essays/books(??) on queer/trans/not heteronormative-conforming people in antiquity which is LITERALLY MY DREAM JOB LIKE HOLY SHIT
SJE reps had lunch with one of the deans to talk about our issues with the first year orientation and she really seemed receptive! good things
got Greek homework back, made astonishingly few mistakes for the complexity of the assignment
Greek professor gave us chocolate and a Valentine's Day poem (she is the sweetest you guys)
mentioned one of the Glasgow courses, b/c she's my minor adviser, and she got REALLY EXCITED and said the Glasgow classics program is amazing and she thinks I would love it there
like holy shit I'm over the moon rn. SO MANY GOOD THINGS!!!
