University of San Agustin is one of the prestigious universities in Iloilo City.Last August 28, the university celebrated its Patron Saint’s Day which is the most awaited celebration, most especially for the Augustinians. It is commemorating the values and traditions of St. Augustine, through various activities. Patron Saint’s Day is a 3 days celebration of love and friendship. Augustinians and other people in Iloilo enjoyed it so much.
As a part of the Augustinian community, I wont go a day, without sharing it to my friends, most especially to my social media buddies. I wanted to share how happy I am, that I have experienced the events in Patron Saint’s Day. I met new friends and even hang out with them, during the activities. We ate a lots of foods most especially during Salo-salo. I tried to experienced shouting my heart out, as my department dances to the festive like Sad sad. And even witness how smart and beautiful the Augustinians are in Mr. And Ms Intrams. The Augustinian spirit is so overwhelming. This is indeed, a memorable one. I have also seen people coming from different places. And I think not only Augustinians are the ones who have experienced it,but also different people from Iloilo City.
5 MUST EXPERIENCED EVENTS IN PATRON S DAY
1. Sad-Sad
Have you ever been to festival? Like the sound of the drums that ever made you feel excited? Sad Sad is one of the most awaited event in Patron Saint’s Day. It is a tribe performance from different colleges where they dances with wonderful costumes and props. It is really festive.
2. PLAYFEST
Laughs and claps of hands filled the room, with these live drama, by the Augustinians from different colleges. They performed creative acting and even singing, in this event.
3. SINE AGUSTINO
This is the battle of short films, created by different colleges. Here, was shown the talents and creativity of Augustinians through film and acting.The films were wonderful, it was made to show Augustinian love and friendship, that’s why it really captured the hearts of many viewers. Cheers to all aspiring Augustinian directors, scriptwriters, actors and actresses out there!
4. MR AND MS INTRAMS
Loud chants and applaud was heard in the gymnasium during Mr. and Ms. Intrams. This one was the most awaited and a lot of people visited and witnessed this pageant. This shows how beautiful and smart Augustinians are.
5. SALO SALO
Augustinians were gathered to eat and share another unforgettable memory together. Here, Agustinian can meet new friends and faces. This one is also memorable.
Augustinians shared alot of memories together and I can’t wait for the next year’s Patron Saint’s Day even though I am graduating this year, I will still come back and experienced again this wonderful memories. I will still, come back to my home. The University of San Agustin.
