I spent Friday and Saturday of last week attending an amazing symposium here at UW Madison! Organized by professor Marina Moskowitz, Teaching Textiles featured speakers from the US and UK all talking about the history of textiles education. It was ~fascinating~! PLUS, each symposium attendee got a tote bag screen printed (by me!) with an embroidery design, needles and thread so that they could stitch while they listened! It was a super fun way to tie history to the present and getting to see how differently everyone’s bags came out was a joy. This one’s mine but you can see some more of the finished and in-progress embroideries by following @profmoskowitz on Twitter. I also did a little bit more writing about the conference on my Patreon. Consider supporting me there, too! #teachingtextiles #academicsymposium #adventuresingradschool #embroidery #screenprinting #screenprintingonfabric #textiles #textileshistory (at Madison, Wisconsin) https://www.instagram.com/p/B526-ZGFSFk/?igshid=46q5xoz7bod
